Cories are pretty common and you can find many at local petstores.
Peppered cories are easy to come by, so are julii, and spotted. They run from 2-4$ each (get at least 5, as they are active schoolers, and will be much more active in larger groups)

The regular green aeneus cory, the albino cory and the spotted or salt and pepper cory. Each of them sell for about $3-4 apiece.
All of them are good hard workers at scavenging and will clean up any food missed by the other fish in the tank. They are not agressive and make excellent tankmates for most of the average sized tropical fish.

All good answers, the best advice is to get a school,(6 or more) of almost any common species, keep the water clean, feed some fresh veggies once in a while and watch for the little transparent eggs sticking to the glass that will mean they've spawned. Have fun.PeeTee

It depends on the individual pet store and how much they want to charge, it depends on who the pet store buys their fish from and what that breeder has and what they charge, and it depends on where in the world you are.
