At the beach I like to walk at low tide, dinner time for seagulls. I have a habit, though, of saving those few unlucky crabs. I just take them from where a bunch of seagulls are and put him somewhere where they aren't. Then they bury themselves and I've just saved another life. But its not like the seagulls starve they get plenty of food from beachgoers during the day. I just can't stand the thought of them being dropped at thirty feet in the air and then eaten. Am i the only one who does this??

This seems similar to the story of the girl walking on the beach where there are lots of sandollars. She's walking along the beach, throwing beached sandollars back into the tide, and a man comes along and asks 'Why are you doing that? There are so many. It doesn't matter what you do, you can't save them all. And she picks up another and throws it back in the tide, telling the man 'It mattered to that one.'

If it makes you feel better, go ahead and throw them back. Lots of people do.

You shouldn't mess with nature like that. All you are dong is taking food from the seagulls and forcing them into the cities where they eat unhealthy food. If you leave them alone and let them eat on the beach it is better for both the seagulls and for everything else, because it keeps those particular seagulls out of the city and in the water where it is healthier. Not only that but it keeps them from crapping on people.
