it seems like i have asked this samequestion 100 times but i still arent sure!

I have 4 guppies, 1 snail, 1 small aquaic frog, 2 marble shrimp, 5 glolight tetras(soon to be 7). I have room for about 6-8ish inches of grown fish in my tank! i was thinking about 1 or 2 pearl gouramis but i went to Petco the other to day to get a filter and to look @ teh critters and i didnt see any pearl gouramis!

any suggestions for fish about that same size that would be compatible and colorful?

thnx and Happy holidays!!!

P>S> its about a 30 gallon tank i kno it may be overloaded just alittle but it feels so empty right now and my fish right now are almost full grown!

i dont think i need to worry about guppy breeding because the tetras will eat small fish and eggs!

At 30gal the tank is not overloaded, but the pearl gouramis may try to eat the smaller fish or disturb the frog. Try honey gouramis.

You should have a filter on that tank, and not one of the ones that need their cartridges replaced every couple of weeks. Don't go to petco, find a local fish shop instead.

Just wait a little while, because if your tank is well set up, those guppies of yours will be breeding like crazy. I just had a guppy of mine give birth to about 30 babies and so far they've all survived (have them in a seperate net cage in the tank)

Do you have plants in your tank? Get some really nice looking ones for your fish to hide in and play around, plus it fills in all those empty gaps.

I advise against getting a betta, they tend to be agoraphobic (they don't like huge tanks, no place to hide unless you've got tons of plants)

You are not overloaded at all. I would add either a dwarf gourami or a betta. Or a pair of Rams would go nicely too.

How about a couple of platys? They'll fit right in with that group.
