Thanks for all the answers. They are in a 2ft tank and are about 1cm in length. Their pH level is between 6.8 & 7.2. The filter has been running for a week. I have not checked nitro levels though...how do i do that? I just looked at them and one is beginning to swim around but the other is still floating on a slight lean.

go to your local pet store or even Walmart and you can buy a test kit that can test your nitrate, and amonia levels

Easy to use test kits are available at your local fish shop, or walmart if you don't mind supporting slave labour. The two most common are liquid drops and dipping papers, niether are perfectly accurate but both will give you a good idea of what's going on in the tank. You are particularly looking for ammonia and nitrite.

If your tests confirm that the water is still ok, then I wouldn't worry. Oscars get very sulky when stressed and tend to lie on their side or lean against things, he'll come around.

I hope the 2 foot tank is a temporary situation for them!
