I just moved my Chinese algea eater in with two tetras. I feed my tetras goldfish flakes and I feed my algea eater algea disks. If I feed my tetras goldfish flakes, will it hurt my algea eater? And if I feed my algea eater algea disks, will it give my tetras too much protien and kill them? I don't want to hurt my algea eater because I've had him for almost 3 years, and I don't want to hurt my tetras because all the rest died. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have a 55gal tank with 5 Angels and 2 Bala sharks. I have one breeding pair that has laid eggs many times on the filter tube. They guard the eggs very well from the other fish. The eggs only last 2-3 days because the parents start eating them. Why do this and is there anything I can do differently?

A couple of weeks ago i noticed that there was this white clumpy layer covering my little bowls. When I noticed it the first time I thought it was the glass rocks I'd put in the bowls so I cleaned it up and took the rocks out. Today I noticed that one of my betta bowels has the film again. What is this film and how can i get rid of it for good?!

discription: tiny white clumps surrounded by a transparent film floating on top of bowel

I am going to be buying a 20-30 gallon tank this weekend, and later, after water cycles, will be buying fish that need a filter, and like a certain PH level. I was just curious as to how you do this? What should I buy to put into the water? The fish I am buying when the time comes, are Kuhli Loaches, so they thrive better on a good PH level. Also, is it a hassle to get the levels right? What else should I know about keep the water conditions optimal?

Thanks to anyone who helps.

I was just curious, since I am getting a new tank, and later fish that need filters. I was just curious as to what you need to buy, and how much to use, in order to keep my PH levels at a good level for my fish( I know the levels vary), Also, is it a hassle?
Thanks.

Okay, so I have looked on probably 5 sites, all giving me different information on tank sizes needed for the fish. I am looking for a simple answer, I know everything else about them, from my local pet store, not looking for any answers irrelevant to the question, like are you sure your able to take care? etc, just need to know what a minimum tank size is..
Extra info:
Getting a new tank this weekend, have the money but not enough space or money for a huge one.

Thanks.

I also have 2 corys, but they all get along great. The water just became cloudy and is clearing up. All water levels tested good. Anyone have any insight as to why this happened? Is it neon tetra disease?

I noticed some quarrel between my two betas in the past few days but I didn't pay attention to it. I thought it was just fish being fish you know. I went over to feed them today and one of them was dead.

My older beta killed my newer beta (even though they were the same size). From the damage on my old beta - i know they were in a serious fight. The retailer never mentioned that I'm not supposed to put two males in the same tank!!!

My question is..if they fight like this, how the hell can they reproduce? Also, how do I help my older beta? Does his wounds heal on its own? How do I stimulate his healing so he can heal faster?
