One of the fish (My boyfriends fish) is mostly orange with a little white and my fish is mostly all white with a little orange on it. I got them because they have each of the other ones color and I got them because the orange one with a little white is him having me where ever he goes and the white one with a little orange (which is mine) is me having him where ever I go.So what do you think I should I name them?

Hi,

All help appriciated,

I have a ten Gallon Hex tank, Set it up a week ago with 2 caps of cycle and 2 caps of auqua plus, after 24 hrs I added 4 zebra danios, I tested the water every second day and nothing budged, its a week now and the Ph=7.2 amonia=0 nitrite=0 nitrate=0 Is it becuse these fish are very small? I feed them flakes every other day. I didnt do any water changes becuse there was no chages in the tests since day one. I think 4 fish to start is not to little or to much but they are very small fish?????

Any advice coments, encouragements???

Thanks in advance?
Jack

I Bought:

1 emperor 400 filter: Filters 400gph
1 aquaclear 110 filter: filters 350gph at max capacity
1 aquaclear 70 powerhead: 400gph (175gph reverse flow)

You think this will be good filtration for my 75gal lake malawi set up?

It is around the top inside of the glass of the tank where the water has evaporated over time.

It does not look like algea. It is plant-like and attaches to every thing in the tank. When I clean the gravel, I get a blueish/green color. The guy at the fish store said it was a bacterium, is that true? It does not seem to affect the fish, but I think it actually helps. The back wall of the tank is completely covered and when I try and clean it, it comes off in large sheets of material. Any clues what this is?

My tank has 9 dalmation mollys. It also HAD :P a few different types of plants in it, which over the course of a month have been devoured by the fish.

The plant eating aside, I would have guessed if anything I was over feeding them. But, taking their devouring of my plants, am I somehow underfeeding them, and this is causing them to eat the plants? Or are they just "grazers" and prone to eating whatever they can?

Now that those plants are mostly gone, they have taken to nibbling at the heater, and filter intake and air tubes (or more likely, whatever is growing on those surfaces?).

If anyone is curious, I have discovered that they don't eat that Lucky Bamboo stuff, which is doing quite well in the tank.

I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 goldfish in it. I change the filter once a month, but still have a problem with green algae covering everything, it needs to be basically cleaned and scrubbed every month. Any help? Can I get an algae eating fish? Its a huge job.

I found my fish on the carpet, apparently it had jumpet though a small opening in the back of the tank. It was dry and the fins were curled and dry aswell. I placed it back in the tank, it's been two days and its still alive... are there any special care / treatments that I could give it? It also has blood in one eye.
Thanks for any help.

At times my flower horn would stay at one side of the tank and the other would go try to look for it, when it does, it chases the other one and suddenly I see them kissing or something. Is this a sign of fighting or are they mating?

I have about 10 mollies in the tank, but it seems that they din swim really active in the tank but group together and stop at a corner. They won't eat anything as well and swim quite near to the surface. At the same times, the tank was in slightly yellow n brownish colour. Previously they do swim together all the while in the tank and keep playing with each others, and now they just keep quite and seems like trying to died by themself.

I have had a 15 gallon fish tank for a lil over 6 months. I had it set up and added all the regular stuff you would add when setting up a new tank except fish. Well, I finally decided to get some fish and petsmart sold me the above amount saying that this would be max capacity. I now wonder if I may have overdid it. I am having a heck of a time with ammonia levels and cannot get them to a normal level. I am having to do partial water changes every two days and the levels still do not drop down past 3.0. I am using API test strips. I have the marineland bio wheel filter. I began using ProQuatics bacteria starter and water conditioner and proper ph 7. I then switched to Wardleys 3 in 1 water conditioner for 7.0 ph, ammonia neutralizer, and chlorine/chloramine eliminator. Another store told me to switch to aquasafe and ph up and use ammo chips, but I have read that Ammo chips keep bacteria from growing. My nitrates and nitrites are perfect according to Medley 5 in 1 strips. HELP
