Hi,

All help appriciated,

I have a ten Gallon Hex tank, Set it up a week ago with 2 caps of cycle and 2 caps of auqua plus, after 24 hrs I added 4 zebra danios, I tested the water every second day and nothing budged, its a week now and the Ph=7.2 amonia=0 nitrite=0 nitrate=0 Is it becuse these fish are very small? I feed them flakes every other day. I didnt do any water changes becuse there was no chages in the tests since day one. I think 4 fish to start is not to little or to much but they are very small fish?????

Any advice coments, encouragements???

Thanks in advance?
Jack

sounds like every thing is good I would keep checking the water every week remember cycling a tank can take up to 8 weeks depending on how you cycle your tank also if your water parameters start to rise do small frequent water changes like 25% to control them and DO Not add any chemicals to your water except dechlrinator and that's only if you are changing the water or adding new water. Good luck!

You are right on Jack... it is because the fish are quite small and your tank is larger for such small fish. Not to mention you are obviously not overfeeding them. Once you introduce more danios or other tropical fish (I recommend guppies or something similar... other wise your danios may become food) you will probably notice a change. But it is good to have a balance tank, it will virtually care for itself and become it's own ecosystem. The last thing you want is to have a tank that is out of whack and you are constantly messing with the chemicals to get it right.
