Fish - November 2006

my male betta fish's back fin seems to b eaten up, wat exactely is this supposed 2 b??? I give him food on time & he is a single fish in the bowl, there r no sharp objects in d bowl either.........................................wat cld b d matter?? do provide some remedies as well.

I have a 33 gal tank fresh water and I have large placostamus[blonde] and he keeps coming to the top for air....Am I starving him for air> GAWD I change the filtre all the time change water every few days 5 gals. What is up With Plato please? Thanks Biggrrr aka Brad

Pls help?a fish pet problem?
i have got last friday on my birthday a fish i a jar!does anyone have fish as a pet, i don't know its kind,but can anyone give me tips about how to take care of it plsssss,iam afraid it might die soon!

the fish i had is orange,looks like a normal fish and i had its food with it,but i was told to just give her 5 pieces of food,its a vey small circules and i was told that it should be put in light ,also what annoys me is the stool that comes out of the fish,what do u do to get rid of it

He lays around all day, seems to have trouble floating and seems to be blind. If he stops swimming, he sinks rather fast. He lunges at pellets violently many times before he catches them, and no longer reacts to my other fish or my finger/mirror. Is he just getting old? He is about a year now.

we call him freud as hes the darkest (speckled) fan tail we have, hes an inch long and when we bought him we bought him another speckled fan tail that was in the same tank and the same build...an inch long... the other fish (sigmund!) has grown to 3 inches but frued is still the same lengh... he often swims around and twirls upside down and corkscrews along the tank! hes pretty funny to watch but he seems to just float around now, hes still breathing normally but he justs let the filter push him along instead of swimming, is he just lazy? iv got a huge tank (3 meters lengh, 1.5 meters width and 2 meters high) he occasionally seems to make an effort, all our other fish are fine, we feed them blood worm and flakes (blood worm is a treat once a week!) is he on his last legs? hes pettern seems to be no movement for 20 seconds...quick jiggle for 5 seconds...hes never been like this!

I had some fishes. They died. Why is that? I changed water once a week or 10 days. I feed them once a day (in the morning). The only problem I had is that the tank is a small one, 2.5 liter one.
And one more thing, how to keep an aquarium clean?
