Before you even think about breeding them you should first learn how to take care of them. Breeding can be very time consuming and costly and is not for beginners. 2 isn't very long for a betta either, they can live around 5 years. Male bettas are territorial and will have to not ever be housed in combination below any situations. They're known as Siamese Fighting Fish for a cause. Additionally, men and women additionally will have to no longer be housed in combination except you're making plans to spawn them, which will have to not ever be tried by way of beginner aquarists. Female bettas will also be housed in combination in companies of 3 or extra. (Odd numbers are most efficient) When housing 2 women in combination, one has a tendency to say dominance and bully the opposite. Grouping 3 will enable them to set up a hierarchy. Keep in brain that each one bettas have a powerful person character. Any one betta is also overly competitive and might must be eliminated from a group tank. Be all set to take a betta out and feature a tank he/she will also be located in if he are not able to play best with others. Bettas can do high-quality with different group fish. There are hundreds and hundreds of in most cases saved freshwater aquarium fish so I would possibly not pass into which can be well and which can be dangerous, however listed below are a few commonplace regulations of thumb. a million. Don't location bettas with different brightly coloured fish or fish with colossal flashy fins like guppies or mollies. They from time to time react to them as although they're yet another betta and repeatedly exhibit aggression in the direction of the ones fish. two. Don't location bettas with different Anabantidae fish corresponding to Gouramis. Anabantidaes are fish that own a labyrinth organ permitting them to respire air from the water's floor whilst dissolved oxygen stages are low. Because they're near cousins, bettas mainly shall be competitive to those fish as good. three. Don't location bettas with different competitive fish or fin nippy fish. Nipped betta fins can turn out to be inflamed or mainly strain out your betta leaving him open to different illnesses. four Bettas are tropical freshwater fish and should not be combined with cool water fish like, goldfish. five. As I stated, a few bettas will assault something you set within the water with it. The most effective strategy to realize is to take a look at. Some fish that more commonly paintings good with bettas are, small catfish like Otocinclus and Corydoras, Snails, ghost shrimp, and Neon Tetras. If you are given that including different fish, be certain to investigate the tank dimension standards for the whole fish load and feature correct filtration and aeration in location. I wish that this is helping.

I had betta fish a long time ago. I thought my male, Brutus, was lonely, so I got him a girlfriend, Juliette. Well Brutus started beating up Juliette and biting her. Plus, he wouldn't let her eat. So I eventually got a second bowl for Juliette. She healed and was doing much better. I guess I gave her a bad name, a few months later Juliette jumped to her death, Brutus lived to be almost 2 (very long for a betta fish)

you cannot put a female in with a male unless she is in her breeding pattern or he will kill her as he will think she is another male...(females look like how wild males look so he will think its a male)
you must put them in a tank with a divider so the water they get is the same - she will get darker and get strippes when she is in ber breeding pattern and he will make a bubble nest - you put them together but must remove her after she laid the eggs or she will eat them
