Check the ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels in your tank. If either the ammonia or the nitrite are above 0ppm, you need to do a water change. If the nitrate is above 40ppm, you need to do a water change. Poor water will lead to disease. Your molly could have swim bladder problems, they're prone to them. Also, you may want to add some aquarium salt, mollies like a little salt. Good luck.

not joking - sometimes they are stupid like that- sorry! I have as orange molly that would swim like that - not on the surface of the water just in circles dumb like. But i'm not sure if there is anything wrong with him. check for any sign on his body for something that doesnt look right. but if he is just swiming "laps" on the surface of the water, he could be getting any particals of food that could be on the surface. he's a site that could help. It's for betta, but these illnesses happen to other fish and the syptoms or usually the same.

I'm not sure what's wrong but mine had the same problem and she died about a month after she started doing that. It happened suddenly, and although my tank is covered, be careful because I did find her on the floor once, but i saved her. Then she jumped again from a little hole. if possible, put her in a separate tank because she will go crazy and stress your other fish. She had babies (I managed to save 25 of them) and they all died but one, it's about 6 months old.
