I have a 10 year old black great dane named pepper and she's the best dog I've ever had. Aside from being beautiful, she's the sweetest, most well behaved dog I've ever seen. She got really sick over the summer and almost died but I got her a $400 surgery and she's doing excellent now. doesn't act 10 at all! I think they're the best dog you can get..unless you have small children they might accidentally step on(lol) anyone have a great dane or share the same thoughts?

He isn't really eating nor is he drinking. He just mopes around all day. He dosn't get excited when someone says "Lets go outside," he will just look at you like you are retarded. && by the way he isn't even 2 years old. I'm really worried.

Ok, so she is almost 6 months old, & is still having accidents in the house almost everyday. I take her out usually every hour, sometimes two. It's almost like she is doing it out of spite. She seems to dislike my son, and every chance she gets, she will poop on his bed and even snap at him. I don't know if maybe I am doing something wrong or what. All the research I've done says that they are very laid back dogs which she is most of the time. Is this still the puppy in her? Or should she be broken of her bad habits by now? Please help, I don't want to have to get rid of her.

We have a Pembroke Corgi female. We have had her for 4 months. We just can not seem to get her trained 100%. She will do great for a couple of weeks, and then all of a sudden she will have an accident on the floor. She doesnt give a signal when she needs to go......Does anyone have a good advice....Is she getting too old to train properly???? She is 6 months old. Cutest thing ever!!!

I have a 2 mo. Old Chauaua, and one day I discovered he has a creator or dent in the top of his skull. Its the diameter of my pinky. When i touch it its a definate soft spot, it doesn't bother him when I touch it. He has a health appitite, listens well, good balance. I'm going to take him to the vet this weekend until then any advise? Is this something that will cause problems in the future?

I just moved into a property that shares a spacious yard with 2 other tenants, one who happens to be a little old lady. I own two terrier mixes (Lhasa Apso and cairn terrier is the best i can guess). Anyway, both dogs exhibited anxiety when we first moved, but seem to be a little better, and they have always been a little aggressive towards strangers(at least in my opinion). So I bet you can guess the problem... How do i train them to stop barking at the little old lady every time they see her? This last time I swear they were going to take her down, and one even nipped at the back of her heels. Is there a method to make them less aggressive, or to acclimate them to the neighbors?

I'm pretty sure it's just arthritis, but my dog is really sore and he can barely move. If he tries to stand up he starts whimpering. It's so sad I want to help him, but I don't think there's much I can do. Can I give him ibuprofen or something?

if you need to know he's a 10 year old, soft coated wheaten terrier.

Background info. Six mths ago my Berner got a hold of a popsicle stick left in the yard by my 4 yr old grandson. A Berner being what it is, tried to eat it. but, a piece of the stick was stuck in between her gum and back molar (jagged side down) I had the vet remove it, it was to tight for me to get a hold of it.
The past 2 weeks she has had REALLY bad breath, drooling, yucky looking stuff around the tooth. I took her to the vet today, of course, she is NOT going to be still while she looks at her tooth. I am taking her in tomorrow, will be sedated, teeth cleaned and they will check this tooth. The vet gave her Amoxicillin to take (2 pills every 12 hrs) NO FOOD after midnight, water only.
My question is...Should I give her the meds in the morning? I have to put them in some food to get her to take a pill. Putting the pill in her mouth, closing her mouth and stroking her neck doesn't WORK!! The Vet can't even get her to take a pill this way!! Should I give her the meds in the AM?

I am currently living in Korea and my two dogs are used to the time here. In a few months I am planning on returning to the US and I was wondering how to get them adjusted to the time difference? I need some input as to how to make it easier for them to make the change. Thanks.

If I were to let him roam the house, I would need to vacuum twice a day to get rid of the hair all over the floor, he has a good thick coat. Any ideas how to stop this? He has always been like this, he is nearly eight years old.

I got a nice dog. half lab/half pitbull. what's the insides of my dog look like - do dogs gotz lungs, liver? what parts they have inside that we don't got? Also, why do my dog sleep with his mouth closed with the tip of his tongue hanging out? What do dogs think about? My dog seem to NOT like mentally retarded people! I don't understand how he knows they are "different."

i have a 5 month old silky terrier x jack russell. when is a pup no longer considered a pup and able to have adult food? there are lots more varieties of adult food than puppy food. i live in a country town and do not have access to large supermarkets, so i do not have the choices that you get at larger shops. there is only one flavour puppy food, but lots of adult flavours.but i dont want to feed him the wrong thing and make him sick.he also eats dried food, and occasionally fresh cooked meat.
