Breeders worry about their show males loosing weight every time a female comes in season (or a neighbors dog comes in). It'll be 3 weeks he may be awfull thin....
That being said you are certain he isn't ill or didn't injure himself?

Not eating or eating very little, is normal behavior for a male, when a female is in heat. He will stay that way, and get thin, until she comes out of heat, which lasts 3 weeks. The only thing that he is interested in right now, is getting to the female. A dog can smell a female in heat, from 5 miles away. There is a product called Nutrical, that most pet stores sell, or you can get from your vet. It provides nutrients, that he is lacking from not eating, and sometimes increases the dogs appetite. You need to make sure he is drinking enough water, because dogs can dehydrate easily. If it persists, and you are worried, the best thing you can do, is to have his vet check him out, to rule out any medical problems, that may be contributing to him not eating.

Ahhh, the joys of breeding!!
It is completely normal and he just might not eat until your female dog is no longer in heat. Heat last for up to 4 weeks with 3 being the norm.

Most male dogs are like that when a female is in heat. They will not eat, lose weight, etc. After the heat is over things should go back to normal.

It is not uncommon for male or female to drop in their appetite at or after a breeding for a few days. It would be more noticeable if the male and female are kept in the same house as well. I would keep an eye on him, insure he's at least drinking water and if after another day or so he's still not eating, time for the vet to check him out.

This is very normal, and if I were you I would boil chicken and rice and feed it to him, I do this with my males when a female is in heat here at my house... it may take a week or so for him to go back to his regular food but leave it down for him all the time untill he is back to eating it, but supplument with the chicken and rice,
I hope this helps and by the way the female will be in heat for 3 weeks, one week coming in, one week she will stand for the male to breed and the last week is going out of her heat,

No. The small breed food is healthier for them than the tremendous breed meals, nevertheless it still is ok. In the event that they just like the equal meals, are trying getting some that is no longer always huge breed or small breed.

Yup males do tend to not eat when girls are in heat. They might miss out on something good if they take the time to eat.

Why the heck are you breeding these poor dogs if you don't know the answers to these questions. You need to wake up and get these dogs spayed and neutered.
