How many puppies is the ***** expecting? How long has it been since she delivered the first pup? If it's been more than an hour, I tell the pet owner to take the ***** and pup to the vet!

that s/he is rightfully worried -- take the ***** to the vet and have her xrayed for skeletal components to see if others are in there or not -- if she isn't delivering others that are in there, they could die or even cause her to so it is important to know for sure. Good luck... maybe also tell her not to breed again since it isn't an on the job learning sort of thing...

If it has been more than 3 hours, she needs to take her to the vet NOW. If she waits she may lose mama and all pups.

Since she obviously has no clue what this is all about - your friend needs to get her dog to a vet ASAP before the dog dies.
Then your friend needs to have her dog SPAYED.
