Hi.
The way you can do it is on the days that you are there, you do it
in segments. To house break your dog, you leave her
in the house alone for 5, then 10 then 20 then 30 minutes by herself.
Praise her like crazy when she doesn't do anything or destroy anything.

You got her less than 8 weeks? No reputable dog breeder would allow a pup to be taken away from their mother and litter mates no less than 8 weeks. Anyhow... No you should not let her roam around the house! This allows her to have accidents and embed in her mind she can do whatever she wants. Also, what if she chews on a powercord or gets into something that could be life threatening to her. She needs to be crate trained. It's normal for a puppy to cry! By letting her out when she cries is letting her know she can get what she wants by crying. You are creating a bad habit. You need to make the crate appealing to her. Place a toy in there, play with her while she is in the crate. You may also want to give her a treat when she goes in her crate. If she cries, DO NOT let her out. You give your pup too much freedom which will only create problems for you in the future.

You should baby gate her in a room while you are gone. Put her somewhere where she can not get into much trouble - with toys & chewies so she doesn't destroy the room.
No, DO NOT let her roam the house - or she will destroy your whole house. Try to get someone to go to your house halfway through the day to walk her as she is too young to hold her bladder all day.
As far as the crate - she will only whimper for a couple of nights & then she will get used to it. She should definitely sleep in there as this is best way to house train her. Leave the crate open during the day - feed her her meals in there. Throw treats in there - throw toys in there - get her used to the crate being "her" fun place. It's her bedroom & resting spot.
Make sure you put blankets in there for her to sleep on at night.

First of all, Mischa is too young to have unsupervised free reign of the house. You may want to put her on a leash and attach the leash to you - this way you can supervise her. It's a training thing. :)
She'll whimper in the crate. The worst thing you can do is give in to her - who's training whom here? She'll get over it. Put her in the crate, but let her out every few hours so she can do her stuff. You'll get through this.

She should stay in the crate, if that it what you want her to do. You have to be sure that your puppy knows your boss. If when she cries you let her out of the crate...you are telling her that when she cries she will get what she wants. Are you nuts putting a 6-7 week old pup outside? That's pure insanity. Treat her as if you would want to be treated. P.S. Why did you get a dog if you work/go to school for an insane amount of hours. Give her to someone who will love her, please. If you dont do that...get her spayed before her first heat.

Put her back in her crate and ignore the whining.
You should crate her while you are gone to school, so that she can't get hurt getting into something while you are gone.. She should be with her own mom still, way too early to be in a new home.

The first few nites left alone in the crate she may make a lot of noise but don't respond and she'll get used to it. Make sure the crate is where she can see you. Lost a lot of sleep myself the first few nites but it gets better.

I hate when people just assume things when a person asks
a question. They don't know the situation, they don't know why you have a puppy that is younger than 8 wks, so why the heck do theses id i ots think they know you and your situation. You
asked a simple question.......................
I agree with Jade, a little bit at a time, also, I baby gated my kitchen and set her in there, initially. it takes time and patience. Never punish her if she has destroyed anything, she won't know why, you will have to catch her in the act.

Paper training= bad idea. Makes housebreaking harder.
Crate training = good idea. She has to learn. She WILL cry.
She is VERY young to be away from om and littermates. She will take longer to train and get a routine down. Be patient!!!
