beagles barking?

Question

my neighbors beagles 2 male/female bark a lot during the day
I spoke to them but they don't care. I work 3td shift
Ive known them awhile now over 5 years. how can I sleep...while they enjoy the barking? what would you do if you were me????

You can buy a bark stopper and install on your property http://www.comforthouse.com/pesconforout.html or you could call your law enforcement department and make a complaint . But I would save that for your last option. You could also turn on the TV or radio to drown out the noise. Good luck I know this can be frustrating.

I had a beagle terrier and he barked all the time. I would recommend the citronella collar or Kong (for them to chew on) to your neighbors. Beagles are made to bark and alert that is the breed. I even went to the vet to see what I could do and she said the same thing dogs bark. The collar i heard great things about. Possible talk to them to come to a solution. When they aren't home have them inside so you get piece or something. All else fail ear plugs. Being a dog owner I understand the barking, but unlike your neighbors I would care and try to find a solution to the problem. You could always report them if their is an ordinance for dog barking longer than so many minutes, but I would use that on the very last option.

Well..... it's a very tough situation.
You don't want to alienate your neighbors, but since you have already talked to them about it, you don't have a choice.
There is probably a noise ordinance in your area (most areas have them.)
First, I would ask them AGAIN to keep the dogs quieter.
Then, sorry, you are going to have to make a non emergency call to the sheriff's dept & report the problem.
They will send a deputy out to speak with them & if they don't quiet the dogs down, then they will probably get a ticket the next time around.
One visit from the law should fix the problem though.
I have several Collies myself. Collies LOVE to bark. I only let mine bark for a few minutes when we are playing. And then I make them calm down. It's just rude to let them bark incessantly.
On that note, I used to have a neighbor who left a note on my door saying that she worked at night and could I please keep the dogs quiet between the hours of 9:00 am & 12:00 pm. I was VERY considerate to make sure that the dogs were quiet when she was sleeping.
On the other hand - my current neighbors (who I really like) have a big ol' dog that they have no problem letting outside at any time of the night & they will let him bark for HOURS.
I just live with it, cuz I am fortunate enough to be able to sleep later in the morning after being up for a couple of hours listening to him.

To me there isnt a sweeter sound than a beagle baying! However I do get cranky when my sleep is interrupted. Working 3rd shift myself I feel your pain. Speak with them again and if nothing is done about it call the law enforcement and report a nuisance noise.

There is no way in hell to stop a beagle from barking. Unless they are surgically altered. Call the city and file a nuisance complaint. They will make them put them inside or get rid of them. Also get ready for your neighbors to hate you or possibly do something to you.

hounds don't bark, they bay. it's errrrrr! If it's that loud you should file a police report for noise. Beagles can be big babies but there are things that can be done so they're not as vocal. Your neighbors don't care. They don't just get to rule the neighborhood with their noisy hounds, so next time they are baying, call the police.

people will tell you to kill the dogs "rat poison in some meet", but this is extremely illegal. You can take legal action, it can be tricky. Try to talk again to the owners,its the easiest and best solution.

Call animal control. They can cite the owners and eventually have them prosecuted.
