If so, I have be worried about him because he seems to be progressing kind of fast. He is happy and "shows" no pain. He does have wobbly legs, is knuckling and usually dragging his nails. He will still take off running and is eating fine. We have not had any bowel issues. I am just concerned and have read tons of stuff about it on the internet, but a lot of the info is constantly repeated. I would just like to get a little insight from anyone who has had a dog with this.

My Lab puppy is 6 months old and in most aspects of training has been great-he walks well, sits at the road to cross and waits when you tell him but when we are playing fetch in the field and he spots another dog he just runs to them and no amount of shouting from me will stop him-he totally ignores me.
He wants to play with other dogs-not fight with them but not everyone wants their dog licked to death by a gawky Lab!
What can I do to get him to listen to me?He follows all my other commands it's just this one that I'm struggling with. It's making me nervous about letting him off the lead at all but he loves to have a good run-I'd just like him to come back! Thanks.

My Brother has a 1 year old Airedale and he had been running off all the time so they got him a underground fence, now he is destroying everything he can find. He chews on everything, digs, and rips stuff apart. We have given him bones, and a soccor ball, and a big (horse size) jolly ball to play with. They have helped but it really just seems like he only doing it to make my brother mad. Any tips?

My boyfriend and I bought a crate for each of them. Are we supposed to keep them in there all the time, even when we are home? Should we feed them in there? We had pee pads down for them, but decided to take them away because we don't want them to get used to going indoors. We take them out regularly to use the bathroom. We are having a tough time because we try to put them in there at night and they howl. However, we do not want them ruining our home by pooping and peeing everywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know they are older dogs but they were never properly trained and we don't want them to ruin our house!!

my dog started coughing a little yesterday and then had a fever so i took him to the vet, they tested him for some things but not distemper and basically said they thought that it was an intestinal problem cause he got into some of my food. He is 3yrs old and vaccinated for both parvo and distemper but i worry alot and I am wondering if its possible for a dog thats vaccinated to still get the virus?

For those who pursue dog training with a trainer, what kind of criteria did you have in selecting your trainer?

How did you find your trainer?

How many years of experience did you want your trainer to have with dogs?

Is your trainer a member of a local dog training club?

Does your trainer show in various venues and has titled their own dogs? Is this important to you if they have or have not done this? Why?

What things make you feel that your trainer is qualified and knowledgable in training dogs?

How many classes did you or are you taking with your trainer?

Does your trainer encourage you to go forward and enter matches and trials?

I'm just wondering what things people looked for and liked in trainers they do or have worked with.

I have two pam-poodle mix year old dogs. They barked at everyone who walked in the door at our old house, and even when the neighbors shut there car doors. We just moved to a apartment, and we have been here for two days and we already have a complaint form the office. We did have them locked on the balcony while the door was open when we were bringing stuff in, and I can understand that, but we think while we were gone for an hour they whined the whole time inside..... They get more than enough attention, so please dont tell me that. I just want them to not bark at every other person who walks to there apartment.... Giving them away is not an option.... Do bark collors work?

we can smell that our toy spitz has gone poop because the whole room will stink and it makes me gag but unless we actually see him do it we can never seem to find the poop.

This morning the smell was so strong it woke me and I could barely breath. I got my hubby up and we looked all over the bedroom floor but found nothing and the smell seemed to weaken as we looked. My hubby swears he saw him in the corner looking like he was eating something but I didn't see him.

We have him in a small area of about 3x3 feet next to our bed. But looked and looked and did not find.

Hubby took him outside and he did NOT poop like he normally does....he only peed several times and he did do that on the wee wee pad that was in one corner of his "room".

Can he actually be scarfing down what he is putting out within a few secs and if so....can't he get really sick from that?

Also, he does try to eat other dogs poop when we walk him.

This is disgusting me. I don't know what to do!

i am a college student and my roomate has a dog where the dog somehow got fleas. the dog lies down in my room from time to time but lately, i've been gangbanged by small brown jumping fleas. i've had 23 bites so far and my roomate (the dog sleeps with him) hasn't gotten bit once! i've washed my bed sheets, blankets, vacuumed countless times while not allowing the dog to come in anymore. the fleas look like young adults ever since i vacuumed. i am a full time student, work, shadow a professional and can't handled being raped by bugs at the same time. what should i do?

Ok, i've read some of the questions and people say to take your dog to the vet right away after they vomit.

My dog has vomit before, last month, but after that he still seems healthy, should i still take him to the vet?

I recently adopted al puppy from the pound i live in a small town and only one lady runs the whole pound. this lady is very sweet and caring and we couldn't ask for a better person for that job. She had a puppy situation about a week ago where she had close to 40 puppies brought to the shelter from various owners some of wich were pit bulls. within days the pit bulls had torn eachother up so bad two of them actually lost ears(9 week old puppies) they all had to be put to sleep for aggression my question is this... isn't it more likely than not that agression is bread into these animals?

Personally I would say that there is nothing wrong with that, but people just keep telling me that it is not right. I'm 5 months preg. and I have 2 male Pitbull dogs (15 mos. old), who consider me their mom (i am), and will only become aggressive when I am around both because they get jelous of each other; they're only aggressive to strangers, but not towards anyone in my family. The problem is that I will be staying with the baby in the same room my doggies use to share when they were pups, and obviously my dogs are going to see me with the baby and stuff. I mean, I don't know how they will react, or if it's safe to have the baby around them; my dogs are my kids too, I can't prefer the baby over the dogs because it is not fair. Plus I've heard that newborns shouldn't be in a household were there are certain "animals". I just want to know if any of you have experienced something similar, cause I always think about that issue, but I really don't see anything wrong...

Ok, like whenever I wake my dog up, he gives me the evil eye, or sometimes, I'll be sitting there watching TV, or on my computer, and I'll look at him, and he'll be giving me the evil eye!!! I play with him a lot, but I obviously can't play with him 24/7, and when I'm relaxing, he gives me the evil eye...

It looks almost identical to this:
http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t316/Josh995/Toby/P1010006.jpg
(This is a picture from Halloween, so just never mind the costume, and here I'm sure he was squinting from the flash of the camera, but that's what the look he gives me looks like)

Is my dog smart enough to actually know he's giving me the evil eye?

Thanks.
