Does anyone else think that dogs are generally better pets than cats?

You don't have to let a cat out to go to the bathroom every few hours.

Cats are cleaner - they won't roll in other animals feces or on dead animals like dogs do.

Cats don't chew things up like dogs can.

You don't hear on the news that a cat has mauled somebody.

Dogs eat cat poop - you'd never see it the other way around.

You don't have to housebreak cats - they come that way because the mother cats teach them to use a litter box.

Cats don't bark constantly all day long like some dogs do.

Cats tend to live longer.

And they're definitely smarter.

FYI dogs are "man's best friend" because most men like animals they can control. Since cats tend to have their own minds most guys don't like that. Just like some men don't like women they can't control. I have zero respect for men that don't like cats - tells you a lot about them! Major issues!

I do have a dog - and he goes hiking with me and is very protective of me. But both I - AND he - love cats as well.

You just never gave cats a chance. Getting to know a cat is a little more subtle than a dog. I grew up with dogs. Lots of dogs and my Mom was terrified of cats because she was mauled by one as a child. What she didn't understand though was the cat had kittens and she was holding her dog over her head. If she had known more about cats it never would have happened. I adopted a stray cat who was pregnant. We had that cat for 13 years and she loved her after getting to know her. Dogs are just different than cats. It's that simple. Are girls better than boys or boys better than girls? No they're just different!

Depends on your situation. Both are great! Dogs require training because they are pack oriented and need a job. Cats are more independent and pretend that they don't need us as much. You have to earn a cats affection which some people don't understand. Dogs can learn 300 words and cats 25 words but that doesn't mean that they are dumb.

Pros & Cons for both.
Dogs need constant supervision and cannot be left alone
alot.
Cats are clean can be left alone if you have to leave for
one night as long as you leave food and water out.
Cats do not chew your furniture, shoes, clothes fav jeans
etc.
I had a cat and after she died I could not face another cat.
So now I have 3 dogs. And they can be a blanket hog.
A yorkie, a mellow jack russell and a shih-poo all too
spoiled.
When it is snowing and lots of snow out there and icy
it is NO fun taking them out for morning however a cat
just goes to its box and if you do not feed too much
canned food they are neater.
There are alot of cat or dog people out there and some
like both.
I like a dog only because I have asthma so cats are not
good to have around.

Hamster- from 15-30 funds, Bedding- 10 funds for each week or 2, foodstuff- 10 funds for a month 4. clean the cage approximately 2-three times each week different than that straightforward to guard 5. only save it remote from different pets, childrens positioned on a intense table or something, would not chunk till you attempt to wake whilst its drowsing. additionally do not positioned to of any form of gender in a similar cage. females are greater aggressive than boys 6.i in my view does not evaluate travelling with it yet once you should then it is going to be high quality 7. that's incredibly lots each thing wish it helped!

I've had 3 dogs and 2 cats at the same time, or 3 cats and 2 dogs - they are all nice furry animals -
but kitties don't bark either - so annoying to have some dog yapping at 5am outside your bedroom window. But, that's the owners fault!

Well, you can't really say "generally" because it's completely an opinion. But I, myself, happen to be a dog person. They are social, loyal, friendly (Depending on the dog, and the situation), and they are like having an extra person in the house. But some people like the aloof, "worship me" attitude of the cat...Hmm...I'll stick with my puppy.

well i didn 't like cats at first but once you give them a chance they are just like mans bestfriend and childrens yes they can take care of themselfs but not to long because they are just like a woman you turn your back on them are leave them they know there way back home and your in for a treat. Dogs are better belive me . True story
