Just curious what everyones thoughts are on Cheque Drops... They have been around the dog world for a very long time. I know Veteran Breeders that vow by them. A vet that is considered an expert in canine reproduction recommends them and actually claims they can improve the condition of a females uterus. Just curious who had used them..why did you use them and how do you feel about the outcome.

I was at the Pharmacy and saw they have a 3 month supply of Hartz for only 7 bucks that is a topical medicine, similar to how Frontline is administered.

Is Frontline the best? What is the active ingredient besides the brandname? Everyone says Frontline is the best but I went to a vet when I brought my first dog that had a flea collar on and they suggested a pill, which I forgot the name of. So are there alternatives to Frontline in pill form?

And I ask again, Does garlic really keep ticks and fleas off of pets? I didnt hear quite a resounding Yes in my last question so am readdressing this question to see if it is a myth or truth. Thanks for everyones input in advance.

i have a 4 yr. old pomeranian and a full grown cat (tho not a yr. old yet) and just received a puppy....the cat just runs away when the pup comes near but whenever the pup goes near the dog, the dog freaks out....starts snapping and growling if it gets near its cage or snaps and tries desperatly to get away from the pup if the pup goes near him outside of his cage. its just ridiculous! my dog has never acted like this even when we put the dog and cat together! so i was wondering if this situation is fixable, or do i have to give the pup back? and if it IS fixable, what can i do to make this transition easier? also, dont know if this matters, but the 4 yr. old dog is a male, neutered, and the cat is a male, and the pup is female. PLEASE HELP!

We would like a medium-sized to not-too-large dog with short hair. He/she will be an inside dog due to our 6 months of harsh winters every year. We have a small backyard and would be unable to give him/her much exercise in the winter. We want a dog who loves attention and spoiling and would get along well with our teenagers and our miniature schnauzer. I don't want a breed with the energy of a Jack Russell -- that would drive me nuts. I would prefer a mellow lap-dog. What breeds should I be looking at?

Ok, so Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and my two dogs have slightly sensitive stomachs. I was wondering if I could prepare them a special meal as well for this day of "feasting." Any recipes?

They normally eat kibble with boiled chicken...but I want to make them something special!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! My question is I got my Yorkie Poo spayed when she was 6 months old, she will be a year next month. I also have a 4 month Lhasa Apso male, and my little girl seems to be "in heat" despite the fact that she has been spayed. Is this normal? How long will it last? This is my first experience with dogs. Thanks!

I was at the SPCA yesterday, like I am regularly, and a couple brought in 3 puppies to be surrendered.

Well the puppies were Heinz 57's and the were loaded with fleas. (and I mean loaded!) Well, the SPCA refused to accept them since they were only about 6 weeks old.(Their policy is no animal under 8 weeks old.)

These people got very upset and threatened to not let the SPCA clinic NOT fix their female dog on Monday because they wouldn't take in the puppies. This couple claim that they have 11 dogs at their home and they just couldn't handle the 3 extra puppies for 2 weeks.

I gave the couple my business card and told them I would take in the puppies if they couldn't handle them for the next two weeks.

If you were there, what would you have done?

I know it sounds like a funny/nasty question but I'm 100% serious. I have a dog he's 2yrs old full grown at around 6lbs but he gives himself BJ's/Head/Dome or whatever else you want to call it. His red thing comes out all the way and he bobs around. He falls off the bed and couch playing with himself, he'll sit on the dining room floor doing it while you're eating. he's bitten himself before and it's really embarrassing and nasty having company over. With Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner is there anything I can do? I've asked vets and they said he still has temptation after being neutered, he was neutered when he was 3 months old. I've had dogs in the past, my whole family has dogs and I've never seen any of them do this. Humping legs, blankets yes but not playing with themselves.

But today I just did it, and now she is having diahrrea it makes me feel bad look at her going poo so often ( just a little bit every time) and also she is making a mess of poop in the house. What can I do any homemade remedy???

I have a 4 month old Maltese, and I gave him a bath tonight and found 1 flea on his head...I got it and killed it. After bathing him and brushing him I looked him over entirely as I did and after and have not found anymore. I am washing my bedding (as he sleeps in bed with me) and washing his in his crate...what am I to do? I have not found another one or anymore for that matter, I have also vacuumed my home. I looked on the internet and I see that Advantage and Frontline are too expensive for me at this time...he does have a vet appt on Saturday...but any suggestions? He is bathed 2x a week...he's not a dirty puppy. I also washed his toys. I was at a friends house wednesday and they have 4 dogs...3 maltese's and a lab...I am thinking that he got it from one of them. I live in MN so the weather is too cold for him to have gotten outside....any suggestions or is what I have done already good???

I am just a very parinoiod proud puppy owner!!
