Why do you feel compelled to answer when you have absolutely nothing to say?

I know. You're child prodigies, which is why you already have a veterinary degree even though you're still in junior high school. Although I'm sure you learned A LOT in vet school, wait until you have something important to say. Just because you add that you're a vet doesn't magically make your comment important, or even helpful. (Funny how that works...)

If you have nothing to say, we'd really all benefit if you did that: Said nothing.

It's really pretty obvious the difference between 13-year-old vets and vets with degrees. I know, for 13 year olds it can be hard to tell the difference. But for those of us who have achieved a high school diploma, it's pretty easy.

So, back to my obligatory question: Why do you feel compelled to answer when you have absolutely nothing to say?

My pup got spayed on Oct. 31st. Just this past Wednesday night (exactly two weeks post op), I noticed her incision was red and swollen on one end. It looked like there was a hard lump under it and I could tell it was bugging her. I brought her to the vet on Thursday morning and they put her on antibiotics and benadryl. Her incision looked absolutely perfect before this, you could barely even see where it was. When I asked what could have caused it, he said he wasn't sure and said "sometimes it just happens". Has this happened to anyone else?? I'm hoping when she heals this time, it's for good!

My dog has a large lump on it which has began to bleed and leek fluid.
He often licks it and seems to be very stiff.
My dong has stopped getting up to see me when I come home.
He has a dry dandruff coat and with also acne on his muzzle.
He also has issues with strange behavior.
he is being badly behaved which is not like him at all.
Can this be cancer?

We have noticed this round boney lump on the top of our 4 month old Golden Retriever's head. It seems to be getting larger as the puppy grows. We went away last week and my friend watched him, when we came back it seems more noticable now than before, more like a "cone head" appearance.
We have 2 other Golden's and we have had them since they were pups and we never noticed a lump on their heads.
I'm wondering if we should make another trip to the vet. The pup has been there 2 times now for shots and the vet never said anything looked wrong with his head but we didn't ask either because we hadn't noticed it at that point?
Anyone ever had a pup with a "cone head" before?
Is there something wrong or will his head somehow grow into this?

But have been considering it for over a year now and can't decide what breed is good around a baby? I love greyhounds but not too sure as they are a little big. Any advise on breeds around babies?

I have an approximately 15 year old border collie mix. At her age every day is a gift. Except for deafness and arthritis, she has been very healthy. I just discovered a hard lump, about the size of a quarter, on her chest. She's due for her an annual vet visit in 5 weeks. Should I make it sooner? How much more worried should I be.

i have a huskie and we all know how aggressive and protective they are. my gf might move in with me and i dont know how my dog will take it. my dog does know my gf becuase i let her hold the leash when i walk her sometimes, but when my gf comes over it takes like 30mins for me to calm missy down. most of the time i have to put her in my bed room and close the door(and yes she still barks when i do that). its weird because when i get her outside with my gf she acts fine its only when we are in the house. what can i do?

You see it all the time on here, 'help my dog is ruining my carpets, how can I find someone to take him?' 'Anyone want my dog, he's chewing my shoes', etc. I really wish people would really sit down and think about what it actually means to raise a puppy before they jump up and go grab the first cute little furball they see.
We're bringing home a puppy in a week and I've already been trying to mentally prepare myself. Yes, I'm nervous about how much work it's going to be - but I think that's good because I KNOW it's going to be a lot of work, somethings in my house are going to get ruined, I'm going to have a lot of training to do, I'm not going to get much sleep, etc. and I'm getting ready for it. I've decided to raise another dog and I've made the choice to be fully commited to him for his entire life - and anything that comes along with that.
I guess this is also going out to all those who are thinking about getting a puppy soon. Just some thoughts :)

many seem to make out that they are big care bears (which is good to a degree) but my one is very defensive when it comes to people it does not know, this seems to only happen at night time, during the day he is fine with anyone.

is this normal.

I know rabies is usually transmitted through bites and stuff. But what if you were bitten by a dog and it didn't break your skin? Can it still be transmitted? Because i was bitten by my friends puppy and he had very sharp teeth, and i didnt see any break in my skin but when i started to pick at it alot it started to turn red and then now its like purple, it looks like a bruise on my foot, should it be looking like that? The puppy was really small and young, and he did have small sharp teeth. But if it did break my skin shouldnt it be bleeding no matter how small the bite? Should i be worrying?

My dog doesn't like to go outside to do his business when its cold outside, when I do force him outside, and after he comes back in the house he's mad at me!
He blames me that its cold outside, he thinks I made it cold outside, but my dog is too dumb to know I can't control the weather.
How can I teach my dog about the weather changes, the change of seasons?
