I'm going to have a few of these questions because I need about 100 dogs and their heart rates(just use your hand). I'm going to do some myself but theres no way I can get 100 unless I get some help so thank you! I would also need their height from their withers or shoulders down and if possible, their weight and breed. Once again, THANK YOU!!!!! (and for people who've seen this a million times, sry)

Can you negotiate the price of a puppy when the breeder has already asked for a certain amount? Or is it generally a fixed price? I just want to know what is normally done.

For example- I'm interested in a maltese puppy. The breeder I'm interested has priced them at 1250, which I think is a tad too much. I would give 900-1000.

(We took her to the vet 3 weeks ago, she is only 2 months, and her gave her her parvo shot and some other one but we didn't take her last week and the that's when the vet said to take her.) Is my puppy going to get parvo? (I touched a toy of my last puppy) We will take her on monday to the vet.

She ate a piece of a milky way chocolate 4 days afterwards she was vomiting and had diahrrea but because she had gotten sick before we just thought it was an upset stomach and treated her with metradozone(antibiotic). A week passed since she had eaten the chocolate we took her to the vet and he said that we should continue what we have been doing and give her pedialyte. She continued sick and we took her to the vet again this time he said that due to the fact that she had bloody stools he thought she ate rat poisoning. We informed him that it was very unlikely, she had just eaten the chocolate. however he treated her as she was rat poisoned. Vitamin k was given to her for 5 days. The blood in her stool stopped , however she continued with the diahrrea and vomit. She wasn't eating. We forced fed her and gave her vitamins. But as the days passed she got worse and skinnier. The vet visits continued but everthing was the same. Almost 3 weeks after it all started we got home and she was dead

I feel that I am not supplying my dogs with all they need if they are continually eating grass. It's like taking cows for a walk. Basically is there anything that is missing from their diet that I can supply?

What worming protocol do you use? Do you do yearly fecals and worm if necessary?

Do you worm on a routine? What do you use?

Just curious as to what you all do. And do you have special concerns following dog events?? Have you brought home anything "special" from a dog event?? (We brought home coccidia from a National one year)

Just general thoughts on worming protocols.

Are you a pit owner who sugarcoats pit bulls? Or are you someone who believes everything you see in the media without actual knowledge of the breed?

I own a pit, but I don't try and hide the fact she's a very gamey dog. I don't hide the fact that I would never bring her to the dog park...I don't trust her with small dogs or with dogs that try to dominate her. She does have playdates.

I also don't hide the fact that she is one of the best breeds I have ever owned. Nor the fact that she is great with my 3 year old son.

While everyone is urging for BSL...It's the fear the media has installed into it's audience that has caused such hysteria. But it's irresponsible pit owners that have caused all the problems. Who's gonna suffer??? The responsible dog owner.

Did you know that 80% of dog bites are from unaltered males? And if you have a dog that is chained and/or unsocialized they are apt to bite?

Give an explaination with your answer please.

My problem is that i have a 7 month old springer ***** that will be comming into season soon and i know all about how long it lasts and to keep her away from males (i intend to breed her when shes much older just not yet)But i have a male beagle ,who when we first had her a couple of months tried to hump her a few times which we soon found out was a dominace thing and we have stopped that behaviour. but i'm worried that when she comes into season will it start again and will she be doing all the chasing this time around?
This is my first ever female dog and i'm not sure if she will get aggressive with him shes very laid back and gentle normally, should i keep them seprate from each other aswell as other dogs outside?

I have two dogs, a male bichon and a female maltese
I have a queen size bed that only I and them sleep in, however, they insist on sleeping either on top of me or on top of each other
My maltese generally likes to sleep in my face on my pillow or draped over my chest with her ear to my heart
My male bichon likes to lay on my stomach or shoulder.
Some nights I'm crunched between the two, or have both of them in my face breathing all over my neck
It's very funny and cute most of the time, but with all the space on the bed, why do they enjoy doing this so much?

There are over 900 puppies at the North Shore Animal Shelter, in New York. they are all up for adoption, they were taken from a puppy mill in a raid. Very cute and loveable, but they have had little human contact.

the vet gave her a strong dose of antibiotics two nights ago, but she is throwing up and has diarea. is it something worse, or does the medicine need more time to work? i spent all my money on the first vet visit, and i cant find a vet that will look at her without cash upfront

I live in a place where there are no fleas or ticks and there has been no reported case of rabies for 130 years. My dog of course still got a rabies shot but i thought everywhere had fleas and ticks..what are some reasons we wouldn't?

I've lived here for 14 years and every vet i have talked to says you don't have to worry about those things here because we don't have them. and i've never heared about a pet getting fleas here.

I haven't taken them to the off leash dog park for this reason too.

Once I am at the gate and they are too my male will howland bark and my female growls. so I end up taking them back home and bringing the little dog cause she won't bark or growl at the other dogs. She will just go in and rund and play to her hearts content.

My male has played with other dogs and didn't howl or bark at them but they were his family and had seem them before.

I want to be able to let them rplay off leash at the dog park but I don't want them to cause a dog fight either.

I have been working with both of them to listen better to me. Just yesterday I let my female walk around my yard with me not holding her leash and she was fine and didn't run off. I even let her walk to the door with out me holding the leash and took the leash off and she stayed right there until i opened the door.
My male isn't ready for that yet but one day he will be.
