(We took her to the vet 3 weeks ago, she is only 2 months, and her gave her her parvo shot and some other one but we didn't take her last week and the that's when the vet said to take her.) Is my puppy going to get parvo? (I touched a toy of my last puppy) We will take her on monday to the vet.

Parvo will stay in the enviroment for up to a year, cleaning and bleaching will cut down on it. But it can still be there. You shouldn't have anything left from the puppy that had it. Get rid of all that stuff, bowls toys anything. She could get parvo with or without ALL the vaccines. She will need booster till she's at least 4 months old. And even then she can still get it the chances are just reduced (after all boosters are given). Adults dogs that have been kept vaccinated have very little to almost no chance of getting it. Keep on top of her shots, even more so for you because you've had parvo in the same environment. You may want to consider getting her tested once a week until she is more in the clear. That way if she does get it you will catch it early and that's a better chance for survival and lower costs on treating it. Best of luck to you.

Missing the shot by a week will NOT make a difference. I'll start an argument by saying this, but it only takes one shot for a pup to develop immunity to parvo. The reason several shots are needed, is because there is no way to know which shot did it. A pup gets it's immunities from mom for so long during and after nursing. It depends on the moms level of antibodies as to how long after weaning a pup is still immune. That means that if the pup gets its first shot, and still has the antibodies from mom in its system, that shot does no good. The antibodies from mom fight off the virus, and the pup doesn't build its own immunity.So...a second, third, fourth etc shot is needed to make sure that the pup gets one by the time moms antibodies wear off. Parvo can live in the environment for a year-ish. 1 week late won't make a difference, but several weeks late could be fatal. As long as you don't miss that Monday appointment you'll be fine.
The sad fact is, if the puppy came in contact with parvo a week ago, getting the shot back then wouldn't stop it from getting parvo anyway. Since you already know it's in the environment, you should be super vigilant in watching for any signs, so you can seek treatment right away. The main reason pups do not survive parvo is because they were already too dehydrated before they were taken to the vet. I would go immediately to the vet or emergency vet at the first sign of lack of appetite, vomiting and/or diarrhea.

One parvo shot isn't going to protect your puppy. You should NOT miss any vaccinations if you had a dog die in your home of parvo. Your puppy MIGHT get parvo.. I suggest you call your vet and let him know what's going on, and get in there to get that vaccination.. If it was me.. I would get the dog out of the whole house til you got things figured out.. Put her in a home where there was no parvo.. Why did you get a new puppy when you had a dog die of parvo??? The disease can live a long time in an environment.. You should have gotten a fully vaccinated adult if anything at all.

If you cleaned everything properly with a solution of 1 part bleach to 30 parts water and keep up the shots your puppy has a slim chance of getting parvo. Nothing is 100%. Just watch her. You had parvo in your house once, so you knoe what it smells like. If she ever has diarea with that smell take her to the vet rightaway.

There is always a possibility, Parvo can live in the environment of where the infected puppy was for about 10 years unless it is disinfected. It can live in the dirt also. Even though your puppy ot the shot it has to build antibodies for parvo before it can be safe from it. But it is so contagious no puppy is safe from it. Keep up on the parvo shots esp if she is being exposed to it.

Any toy's your other puppy had should be thrown away and do NOT allow the new pup to play with anything your other puppy played with. Yes she can still get parvo. Untill she gets all of her shots for not only Parvo she is in danger of getting it!
You ahould have disinfected your home and yard with bleach and water before bring in a new pup even doing that is not a guarntee that the Parvo virus is really gone.
I hope your new pup does not get the virus but missing shots or putting them off is not a very good idea if you want a happy and health pup.

ADD: dont wow us! wow you for being so uninformed about this horrible virus. You should not have brought a new puppy into your home at all.
I week is a long time and long enough for your pup to get very sick and die if it catches the Parvo virus!

Like any vaccine given to people and/or dogs, it includes a small amount of a live virus in order for your body to build up an immunity to it.

However, it is rare that a dog get Parvo from being given the vaccine but it does happen. If she's had the first set of shots with no noticeable side effects, she'll be fine even now.

But please, get the full round so you can be 100% sure now and in the future. And keep everything sterilized (including the toys) because Parvo is highly contagious.
