Larger dogs usually take until the age of two to finish growing. Wait and see how much bigger he gets. Maybe he just got the genes to be a little bit smaller than the averages of the two breeds.

Make sure he always has food out, he might not be eating enough. If he's just a small dog naturally, shame on you. German shepherds and labradors are not enormous dogs. In fact, german shepherds are quite trim, they just have long legs--so your dog may have gotten the body of a GS and the legs of a labrador. Love your dog and be thankful it's healthy.

There is a chance that your dog is still growing. Also just because your dog is a mix of two large dog breeds doesn't guarantee that it will be Arnold schwarzedoggie. When you're talking mixed breeds, no matter what kind of mix they are ( a mix of large breed dogs or otherwise) you can never guarantee how big or small the dog is going to be.Large breeds aren't all going to be gigantic. They range in size. Some are larger than others.

puppy food. it contains alot of the nutrients needed for the young ones to grow and develop muscles faster.and now that he is older, his metabolism is slower, so he should gain some weight. but dont feed him puppy food forever, or else he will get fat. but i think german shepherds are pretty thin dogs in the first place because they are big height-wise. but then again labradors can get pretty big also.

You might try to worm him. It usual takes twice.2-3 weeks between treatments Also a cup of rice in his food will help put on weight.

Wait for him to fill out. Feed him as much as you're supposed to and keep up on your exercise - health is most important here, rather than size.

If you want to make him bigger, increase his food limit and feed him a little extra.
