Just curious what everyones thoughts are on Cheque Drops... They have been around the dog world for a very long time. I know Veteran Breeders that vow by them. A vet that is considered an expert in canine reproduction recommends them and actually claims they can improve the condition of a females uterus. Just curious who had used them..why did you use them and how do you feel about the outcome.

I know several people that are currently using it so not sure if they have a stash or if it is back on the market.. actually I thought it was being marketed under another name...

I have had several people recommend it to me in the past.. at one point I even looked into using it..for the purpose of keeping one of my show girls out of heat... but I never did try it.

Great Dane Lover~~~~
I do not type things that are not fact or I cannot substantiate.... Dr Hutchinson...probably the TOP canine repro specialist in the country is a strong supporter of Cheque Drops... and I know SEVERAL top breeders that use cheque drops in their brood bitches...not just so so breeders but breeders that are producing the top in their breed...being a vet tech certainly does not make a person a repro specialist... I have however spent countless hours reseaching reproduction..attending seminars..speaking to breeders..speaking to Dr. Hutchinson himself...and Breeder Judges... There are alot of people that are STRONG supporters of Cheque Drops... I have never used them... but certainly would not say I would never use them..and have considered it in the past

I thought the manufacturer had them off the market - rumors are that a compounder is making them but I haven't confirmed it...
It can increase agression in the treateded female (I've seen it- in multiple females)
There are doccumented effects on the progeny of the treated female should she be bred later - one of them resulted in 3 of 5 pups with hernias in a litter from one of my sisters dogs (and the female was bred on the THIRD heat after taking her off cheque).
I MIGHT try it on a female I was NOT going to breed but wanted intact to show but not on a brood *****- ever.

My beloved dog is spayed so I can't tell you anything but I can say this: good luck - I doubt there is anything chemical that God & veterinary medicine can't handle.

Think carefully before you do anything. The last thing you need to do is change or create a new mood, or inadvertently injure your beloved pooch. Since I knew nothing about what you wondered about I had to look on-line & the links below are what I learned about the use of Cheque Drops.

Best Wishes,

Jaime

I don't know ANY vets especially reproductive specialists that recommend them. They can cause some serious side effects.

I also don't know of any responsible breeders that even consider using them either because of the side effects.
