Dogs - November 2007

My dog has been sneezing all day poor thing, must have allergies. So his mucus is all over the place. I've noticed that it's brown. Is that normal?

so i asked a question before about my bald minpin. i did take her to the vet and she has demodex. they said it wasnt a bad case since they only found one but they did say she will have it forever. she had her first dip this morning and i have to go back again in 2 weeks. i was reading about demodex and it said she can fight it if she has a healthy immune system. i am feeding her eukanuba small breed puppy food. the vet said that was a good food but is there anything else i could maybe give her so she can start fighting this? she is also 5months old.

I just took in a homeless puppy and he needs wormed and vaccinated but my budjet is tight.It never seemed to cost this much to have a dog. It used to be , you took them to the vet and they womed them and, vaccinated them in one day. now they want to do alot more, and they want you to come back for more visits. These things I never needed to do before and all my dogs lived long healthy , happy lives.

Our medium-sized blk-brown shepherd mix is so friendly and playful. If somebody breaks into our house and offers him food, she might even go with that thief. She knows our neighbors across the street - some with pet dogs, too.

Hello,
I have an almost 3 month old jack russel terrior. I took her to the vet the begining of the month and had given them a stool sample to be tested for worms. They said no news is good news and I havn't heard back so I assume she's worm free (plus she was dewormed before we got her)
However the vet did tell me that 1 sign of worms is a pot belly which she has and the vet did notice and still hasn't called so I assume she's fine.
Anyways she goes poop about 5 times a day its not diarreah. But she does sometimes have loose ones. Is that too often for her to be going?? I'm worried because she does have the pot belly and this seems too frequent.
I'm planning on calling the vet but before I did I wanted to know what other's thought & if I should be worried. Thanks so much in advance :)

Hi, my family is welcoming out first pet for this Christmas. We want a yellow lab or a retriever. The prices range from $200-$1000. I understand that is due to pure-bred or not, age, and whether if it comes with vet-check, deworming, etc.

Now please someone help me:
1. How much does it cost to get "Vet-check/ Deworming/ 1st&2nd sets of shots/ Microchiped"

2. I hear alot about "Hip & Eye" problems. Is there any way to check if the puppy is ok when we go on site to choose one? (ie: move the legs certain way, feel the joints of the hip etc?!)

I have a 6 year old Beagle. Recently, she started pushing her bowl around on the floor and knocking the food out of the bowl before eating. Sometimes she leaves the food on the floor and doesn't eat it. It's one of those bowls that has a section for her food and another for her water. She never used to do this. Any ideas? She's making a mess on our floor a couple times a day!

Alright yesterday I was at A thanksgiving pary with my cousins. And as soon as I come back they are gone and they've never been missing. It is two pitbulls, they are very friendly never been vicious for the last 3 years I had them, also I afriad they are going to get shot because I live like on an area were thier are farms. Every Christmas season I go through this anxiety. Rory, my beloved Great Dane, and Sampson, his beautiful black lab brother are very hard to get Christmas gifts for---because they already have every thing their hearts desire!! I cook them meals every night, play music for them, get them all the chew toes, dog bones, and contraptions they could ever wish for. Then every Christmas they look totally disinterested in all the proceedings. Any ideas??
