Bad breath vs. fresh air!

Because when you blow on their face they are reacting as a dog to a human blowing on their face. They figure that has to mean something if a human blows on them, and it probably doesn't mean anything good. When they stick their head out the window, their relationship with a given human is not an issue.

Dogs do it for exactly the same reason you do. Blowing in someones' face is agressive and personal. Sticking your head out the window is fun.

Because when they stick their head out the window they control through their nose the strength of the breeze that goes through it.When you blow in their face they have no control and you actually make them stop breathing for that second or two.

Yeah, my dogs that way too. I can sneak up behind her and lightly touch the very end of her tail to get it to twitch, and she'll let me do that forever, but when I blow in her face, she snaps at me. Good question for an animal psychic.

When a dog sticks his/her head out the window of a car, he/she is experiencing a whole cacophony of smells & odors. They are experiencing the world they are travelling through. When you blow in their faces, all they smell is your lousy beer breath. You don't like it either!

Getting in a dog's face is a challenge like staring them down. My question is why do you do that? How would you feel if someone blew in your face!!!!!!

Dont know but GREAT FREAKING QUESTION...

my guess is that they have great sensors in their nose for smell and they are exploring what the outside has to offer rather than SWAMP MOUTH that they have grown accustom to...

Really - dogs know what you ate and dont care... they'll smell your butt at night when your fast asleep......
