A dog the size of yorkie could easily be overdosed on medication without direction from a vet.

There are many different pain medications for many different types of pain. Without knowing what is wrong with your dog no one can tell you what to do with it for pain. IT could be as simple as some OTC glucloseamine pills or your dog could need long term pain management threw something like a fentanel patch.

So please take your dog to the vet ASAP.

As everyone else has said:::
What is the pain meds for exactly??
Why didn't the vet perscribe anything when you had it diagnosed?? If not been to vets you should take as soon as possible if you feel the dog is in pain.
I hope he/seh will be ok.

When the vet decided the dog needed it, he would have given you a prescription and instructions...

If you're making this decision on your own, don't. Take the dog to the vet and let the VET decide.
