He will walk normally for about 4 blocks then he begins to favor his front left leg. Once home and he rests, he is reluctant to put any weight on his leg. He will continue to limp around the house until the next time to go outside, where he will walk normally again for a few blocks. I'm confused and don't know what to do because of the time he walks normally. Please any suggestions would be appreciated.

After I go to college I think I would like to become a reputable breeder as well as a vet tech...I think I would like to breed and show Pitt Bull terrriers or American Staffordshire terriers...what do you guys think?? Have any of you guys bred or shown pitts before? how are they??

I know there is a lot of BSL going on. and I am ignoring anyone who says pitts are mean and vicious.

Say that Person A owns a purebred Malamute with a champion bloodline, and is a champion herself.

Person B owns a Purebred Siberian Husky with a champion bloodline, and is a champion himself.

Both are registered with the AKC, they breed and have a litter of say, 7. Even though both the sire, and dam are purebred, and AKC registered, the pups cannot get registered, correct?

Am getting ready to set up my new business and want to know which toy dogs are the most popular and make the best hybrids? I will also offer purebred dogs, but will mainly focus on the hybrids since that is what people seem to be willing to pay the most money for.
Which ones do you think? Yorkies, poodles, chiwawas?

I live in an apartment right....and I want a puppy and my apartment allows up to 100lb dog and I don't want a yappy little dog. I grew up with big dogs its what I am used to. Now what if the breeder asks where I live and I tell them will they say no just because of where I live? Are there any breeders willing to give me some advice?

Thank you!

Maggie is about 6 months old now. We rescued her from an animal shelter. They said she was a lab mix, but she is way to small for a lab. She is 26 lbs. Any ideas of what she is? I know she is a mixed breed.

Here are some pics of her:

and he doesnt really run that much. He looks more like a bear cub (he is kind of chubby). He would lick us occasionally and tries to play with our children but most of the time he prefers to sit or sleep in his gated corner...he eats well and 99% of the time releases himself outside.
does this sound normal?? i am worried about hip displasia - can you even tell at this age by the way they walk?

I have a 6 month old Alaskan Malamute and a two yr old Schipperke. They get along great all the time - but sometimes I think they get too riled up while playing. It really worries me! My mal has even picked up my schipperke by his tail and carried him around! His poor tail is like half as thick as it used to be!!! I have included a video where you can pretty much see them 'playing' and my mal seems to be really annoying me schipperke. In the end of the video, my little dog jumps in my lap to get away from the big one. I am afraid my mal ( who is only half grown) is going to end up hurting my baby (the little dog).
What should I do? He doesn't understand when i punish him for playing too rough! We were thinking about getting a medium sized dog - like a Golden Retriever or something ( any medium dog breeds that would fit that you could think of would be greatly appreciated)
Is this 'playing' too rough?

I have a Shih Tzu and a Pomeranian that are just the cutest! I plan to breed them. But, their AKC registration is restricted. I know since they are Designer Hybrids, I couldn't register their puppies with any legitimate registry, but there won't be a problem with the breeding, right?

I mean after all, my dogs are SPOILED! And, after all, when two dogs of different breeds are bred, it is definitely a plus for the offspring!

Don't you think that everyone deserves to buy a good puppy at a reasonable price?

does a puppy's tail have to do with it's eventual size? there is a chihuahua i want, and she is so tiny, but she has kind of a long tail. she is already two months old, but i'm afraid a long tail means she's going to grow really big and i want a tiny dog! and i don't have her parents so i can't guess how big she'll be that way.

She is already on prescription meds from the vet, and doing ok most days. Will massaging the afflicted shoulder help? If so what's the best way to massage a dogs shoulder? I use heating pads and she has a heated orthopedic bed, but was wondering if there was anything else that might help my girl?
She is such a wonderful dog and I want to make her senior years as comfortable as possible. So any suggestions or websites with good tips to relieve discomfort would be wonderful.

I rescued my little Mindy from a puppy mill at nearly 5 months old. Her owner wanted to breed her with their toy poodle for "cockapoos" but for various reasons decided to get rid of her. She has food allergies, flea allergies, an underbite, and lately while trimming her hair I noticed that her middle two back`toes are fused together. I trim my parents poodle mix and I if I remember right I can get the clippers between all of his toes, but with Mindy the middle two are stuck together and look like a heart with two pads. I'll have the vet look at her at her next check-up because I don't think its affecting her health at all, I was just wondering if anyone knew what this was? Some kind of birth defect or something? Is it common?
BTW, she just turned a year old!

My dog is only 4yrs and has only a left rear leg.Otherwise is in great health and spirit.I recently discovered his other rear leg will need surgery soon. There's question about how comfortable he would be with only one rear leg that has had an operation. Is it fair to get him a cart, or is it too much?Want what's best for him,he's the most wonderful dog!
