I have the best dog in the world! :) I rescued him 3 years ago from a downtown parking lot. He was full grown at the time (about 4 years old.) He is a lab/catahoula mix. He has been a blessing to our household. He is smart, obedient, protective, loving, and calm. He gets along well with all 4 of our cats! My husband walks him every night. Last night, they went out for a walk and Astro stopped by the light post to sniff, after which he put his tail down between his legs and was uncooperative during the rest of the walk. My husband had to cut the walk short because Astro was just not right. When they got home, Astro was panting, pacing, staring "into space" and growling at every noise. He continues his odd behavior today. He is barking and growling at every noise and he's not very relaxed in general. What could have caused this sudden onset of anxious behavior? He is so smart that I know this is his way of saying there is something wrong, but what? How do I get him through this? Thanks!

I'm having a common sense problem with my significant other.

We brought our lab cross dog to the cottage this weekend. She had just got a bath last week because we had been at the cottage last weekend as well, and she had got very dirty. She gets a lot of sand in her coat and just itches almost constantly.

After this weekend at the cottage, she is itching very badly and I told my S.O she needs a bath. He is going into a fit saying he has done research that says you cant bathe a dog that often, yada yada.

First of all, labs are notorious for itchy skin. Second of all, the dog is dirty, she needs a flippin bath.

AM I WRONG? Should we let her itch and scratch like a maniac because she's already had two baths this month? Will giving her another bath to clean off the sand and crap really make her worse in the long run!!?

Seriously, this seems really common sense to me, but does anyone have any info that I can show my S.O so he can stop arguing with me.

Hi, I have an 11 week old Australian Shepherd and awhile back I registered him in a puppy training class, but since then he has become really well trained. The class teaches the basics, and he basically has everything covered. He is potty trained, he is leash trained, he sits and lays down on command, and he used to bite ALOT, and that has since then improved a lot. We work with him a lot, and are active with him as well, I was just curious if you think he still should go to the class?

NOTE: We also take him to a puppy play class once a week where he interacts with other puppies.

There is a family who lives behind me who have a German Shepherd. They leave him on a short chain inside a fenced in back yard. The dog barks All day and All night. And when they do come out to the back yard, the kids play just far enough away from the dog so he can't reach them, and the adults constantly yell at the dog for barking! They will say "Shut Up!!" and "Why are you Cowering!" They never play with the dog or talk nice to the dog. And it isn't like they have him for protection, because he is on a short chain inside a fenced in yard. But calling animal control won't matter, the law around here is that a dog must have shelter, food, and water. And he has all of that. But I still feel like he is neglected. Why do people like this even have a dog????

My boyfriend and I are having a debate on whether or not our(my) Pekingese should be allowed on the couch. I wanted to see how many other people allow their pets that shed on furniture?

I broke up with my bf of almost 5 years cause i was sooo tired of him acting like he can be a jerk and i just have to take it, him saying he wants to be with other people, and that i'm not really what he wants. He had broken up with me several times, some of them i insisted we work things out, and he took me back, on the condition that i alone fixed everything. Others he just said he missed me and i went back. It seems that this time he wants it to be as simple as that again. He has said he wants to be with me. I ask what has changed about all the other stuff, and he won't answer cause he says i'm just looking to fight again. He tells me to just 'behave'. I mean, if he REALLY wanted things to work, he would work on those issues with me, right? I know they won't magically go away... But since i want to talk them out, he says that all i'm saying is i don't want to be with him, and acts offended. I'm saying we need to work it out so we can be ok...
What should i do?

We adopted this dog like two days ago and it simply does not listen. She is about a year old and a stray her whole life, so I'm not expecting magic right away but I need help training her. Here are the problems:

1.) She bites EVERYTHING including people's hands. When I walk her she gets mad about the leash, choking herself and biting my ankles and shoes.

2.) She is pooping and peeing indoors.

3.) We have two cats (seperated from the dog for now), and every time they interact the dog wants to chew on them. Whats the best way to teach her this is wrong and introduce them at the same time?

Thanks so much, I know there's a lot here so any help would be appreciated!

I brought my puppy in for a trim a couple of weeks ago...He was about 5 months old at the time....When I brought him in, I told them I wanted to get the puppy trim, (that was what they suggested), so I said ok...When I picked him up a few hours later, he looked exactly the same except that they gave him a bath...My question is...did I get ripped off, cause they didnt touch one hair on him, or are you not supposed to cut puppies hair until there a little older? I think they trimmed his nails down but I know they did not touch his hair.

Our family dog that we've had for 10 years and I love like my best friend is suddenly really sick. My mom looked up some info online about what she might have and she thinks it's like a bloating gas problem and now my dog might not have much longer to live. I really want to take her to the vet like a normal family, but my parents are too cheap to spend money to get her help. I can't just let my dog die like this! Does anyone have a suggestion on what I should do!?

my moms toy poddle was attacked by another dog right around midnight, the next day she took him to the vet, they "treated" him, kept him over night, when they sent him home, they didnt give him a cone to wear to keep him from licking his wound or give him antibotics. Now this morning she took him back because his wounds opend again, now she might have to put him down because of infections. now the vet said some should have given my mom antibotics when he was sent home from the previous night. Should we sue?

1. Okay - I know it won't snow for a couple of months yet, but how will I get my dog to go to the bathroom outside when there's snow everywhere?? This will be the first winter I've had my dog. Do they just go anyways?? What if he won't go because it's too cold? Should I get him a little sweater to wear outside?? He's a minpin/jack russel mix so he has short hair. Help??

2. How do I get my dog to poop outside?? I know this probably sounds stupid, but when I take him outside he sometimes doesn't and he just runs around and sniffs for like 15 minutes. So when I bring him back inside he waits until I'm not watching and goes into my spare bedroom and poops on the carpet. Any advice??

3. Also - how do I get my dog to stop spreading trash around everywhere? Everytime I leave he knocks over the trash can and eats all the nasty food and makes a mess all over my floor. It's so frustrating!! Any advice on that one??

Thanks in advance!! :)

It's a dog and b***h. The dog is lovely but the b***h can be quite snappy and bad tempered.
My initial thought was to call them Ken and Barbie.
