First, your parents are NOT vets and they really should NOT make a self diagnosis. They should at least take him to the vet to get diagnosed. It could be something very simple.
You can have a talk with your parents and ask them if they will not get him the medical attention he needs to at least pay for euthanasia so the poor dog does not have to suffer needlessly. He has been a loyal companion for 10 years and deserves at least that much.
I'm so sorry for you!

When I was a kid our family dog got very sick when we were visiting relatives, and my parents didn't want to take her to a vet until we got home. I found a vet a few blocks from my aunt's house and took the dog myself. I explained the situation, and the vet examined the dog, gave me a few days' worth of antibiotics and didn't charge me anything. I did convince my parents to take the dog to the vet for further treatment when we got home.
Is there a vet within walking distance of your home? If not, can you call a relative or friend and ask for help? It's really your parent's responsibility to provide health care for your dog. Try talking to them about it - let them know how upset you are. Offer to do extra chores, or to use some of your money to help pay the bill. If all else fails, you could try contacting the SPCA or Humane Society for help.
Good luck, and I hope your dog is okay.

You can call the vet and ask. Call a local vet unless you have one and tell them what is going on and see what they say.
I'm sorry that your parents are too cheap to take the dog to the vet. What they are doing is not legal. You could call Animal Control and report them. When you have a pet, you are supposed to take care of them. They are being penny wise and dollar foolish. The longer they wait, the more it will cost when they finally have to take her to the vet. Preventative care is the smartest way to save money in the long run.
I have 2 cats and a dog. Meanwhile, the dog is suffering and doesn't know why. It's cruel. I'm sorry for your situation and I feel for you. Please call the vet and see what they say.

Phone the RSPCA if you're in the UK, or the equivalent group anywhere else and report your family anonymously, an officer will come to your house and insist your parents take the animal to a vet or can even force them. If the dog really will die without care and your parents still won't take it, then they can confiscate your dog, it might be very sad, but it's better that the dog is alive and elsewhere than it dies with you.

Call your local humane society or shelter. If it is bloat the dog will die without treatment.
Thank the Lord this poor dog has one person looking out for him. How sad that has to be a child.
Do the right thing and call for help.

Call around different vets and get some quotes on how much an office visit is. Then when you find something reasonable take your money and tell your parents that you'll pay for the office visit. Good Luck!

Sad to hear that.
However, 10 years is considered rather old for a dog, and it is very difficult for a dog of this age to recover fast/well.
Try finding and contacting your country's animal care centre for help, since your parents are unwilling to spare the cash. The animal care centre are usually able to offer a bit of advice.

How old are you? 18 years and up can take their dog to the vet. You don't even have to say that it is your parents dog. Try to do the research to let your mom understand that it is the quality of life that you want your dog not to suffer.

File a report with your local animal control, anonymously, about someone not getting proper medical care for their dog. They will come and inspect the animal and if they feel vet care is needed, they will give them an "order to compy".
If you are uncomfortable doing this, ask a friend to call it in for you.

If cost is the issue, call the local Humane Society or Animal Shelter. Sometimes they can offer care at a lower cost. Good luck!
