English Bulldogs are not for everyone, please be very familiar with the breed before you get one. They have very particular health needs and will end up costing you $$$$$ in vet bills every year, even when healthy.

A quality pup should have both parents certified for eyes and hips. You should plan on spending at least $1000 for a "pet quality" dog. A quality breeder will also interview you prior to selling a dog and should also require a spay/neuter agreement with the dog.

English bulldogs have some very nasty habits, including notoriously bad gas, bad skin and are not at all tolerant of temperature extremes. They have a very short lifespan. They can have nasty eye problems, which cost lots of $$$ to treat.

Research the breed and costs associated with it. If you were a serious dog person, you would be contacting the Breed club, and not Yahoo for more information.

If you are not prepared to spend at least $1000 or contact the BCA (Bulldog Club of America) please do not get a bulldog.
