Why dont you get something done to celebrate your dogs life,to remind you of the happy times, how about getting a painting done or a tattoo if your feeling brave? Make a special photo album, losing a dog is just as bad as losing a child , some people dont seem to understand this and your expected to carry on with life as though nothings happened. When you've gone through the grieving process theres another friend out there for you somewhere, not to replace your dog but to give you a new happy fullfilled life with a new best friend...

It's ok to cry. All loving owners understand that this is a great loss to you and your family. You have my deepest condolences.
Think about getting a puppy or a new pet into the family to start new memories, you may be suprised how fast you will develop a new bond with a young pup. In your heart you always remember your old friend. Be proud that you were an unselfish owner and was able to share all those special times, and that you gave your old friend the company that they deserved to the end. And you know for a fact that He or she would have sacrifice their life to protect you and would never abandon you, so you should also be proud that you did not abandon them.

I am sorry for your loss. Well, I think I would not be at work right now. I would go home and mourn for him/her, but remember the good times that you had with them. I have been through this same thing more than once, and I have to tell you that it always helped me to have pictures of my dog near by, so that I could see him and talk to him just as if he was still sitting there with me. I know it sounds crazy, but it really did help. best of luck! hope you feel better and know he/she is in a better place :)

I have experienced the loss of a dog in the past. It is hard just like losing part of the family. May I suggest moarning just as you would the loss of a loved one. Know that your pet is now in doggy heaven though chasing balls and drinking from toilet bowls happy as ever. Running free through the clouds. That is how I think of my Kota. Time does heal all wounds but for now grieve and allow yourself to feel sad because you did lose your best friend.
I also lost Thor. He was an only dog. As time went by though the house was just to quiet and I missed not having a faithful friend around. It was about 3 months time. We went to the local shelter and got a new friend. Not to replace Thor but a new friend to live life with. That's Baron. He is a happy healthy boy and full of life. I still think about my furry friends that have gone on but I love animals and think that the ones in shelters deserve a chance to. I have 2 kitties from the shelter now and one doggie who was rescued from filth as a pup. He is Roscoe and I love him very much.
Please let me express my deepest sympathy for your loss as well.

So sorry to hear that, it's always hard when your beloved pet dies. Having a small ceremony can help, & a small shrine set up in your home, that you can sit at and think about the good times you had with him/her. Are you going to have him/her cremated, you could spread the ashes at your favourite place you both went, that can be comforting. I hope you feel better soon.
All the best, Starlet :)

Sorry for your lost.
Be comforted by the thought that you are special for caring and looking after your animal through it's live.
It takes a special person to be able to care for another living creature.

Just try and think about good things and not the bad things. Sing a song you like (a happy song)! It's ok to cry. it's better then holding it in.
Hope you cheer up!

you can seek out support groups but only time will heal your grief. I lost a cat that died in my arms years ago 3 years later I was able to get a new kitten. the pain dissipates after time...trust me it does. make a little memorial for your dog. so sorry about your loss.
