Last week I asked the question are dog fighting and hunting the same as far as outcome is concerned? Now I am the last guy that thinks dog fighting is cool. But some of the answers were a bit ignorant. The answer that was chosen best said that hunters kill and eat, and that hunters kill instantly. Not even close people. I've seen six shots go into a deer befor it finaly ended it's life. I've known many people who fire and then take only the trophy stuff with them. Yes, many hunters do kill to eat, thats ok. But, with what I have said, is sport hunting, which a great majority of hunting is, so much different then dog fighting? And I think none are ok?

My pet Maltese recently had rabies and other booster shot . 3 weeks later i noticed a lump the size of a half a golf ball at the vaccine site.
What can it be?
Do i observe it or does it need to be drained.

My pup is about 7 months old. He is teething and I take him to training class and we give him treats when he is good and does well in class. I have a set schedule for morning breakfast and dinner...in between we play play play and train train train and rest too...He is very active...But when I feed him...I tried everything...I bought a huge bag of dry purina puppy chow and he wont eat it plain...so I tried putting a splash of water...he still wont eat it...So I decided to buy this purna moist and meaty dog food and he wont eat it...so I mixed the 2 foods and he still wont eat it...But he will eat everything else...What is wrong??? Am I feeding him too much?? Should I feed him once a day??? I am going to call my vet but since its labor day they wont be open...any ideas on what I can do to have him eat his meal??

She is a 4yr old pitbull and we live on a big farm where we go on looong walks & runs everyday; she is tuckered out at the end of each day cause we work outside all the time. There are lots of other dogs around to play with inside but for whatever reason, she sometimes gets to urge to comepletely chew random doorframes or big holes in the wall! SO frustrating cause it's happening a couple times where I run her for an hour outside with me so she gets some excercise before when i know I'm going to be gone for a couple hours and I'll come home after 2 hours and there's a chunk in the doorframe gone. I leave her toys out and yummy pigs ears and chew treats but she keeps going to the wall! Her last owner had to kennel her for 10 hours a day cause she was gone that long and the dog would destroy the house, so I adopted her cause it's a farm life here with lots to do and lots of excercise but it's not working. I've also put hot sauce on the door frames too. I'm running out of ideas! help!

So, I found what I am sure is a ROUNDWORM in my 3 month old puppys poop... I took her to the vet exactly 7 days ago, and she got wormed then, but I am going to get her some over the counter worm meds tomorrow... the thing that sucks about this, is I have a 4 year old little girl, that is always all over the puppy, playing with her, and letting her lick her face, ect. and I have a wife that is preggo with twins, and I have been reading on the net for like the last 4 hours that everyone in the house will catch this parasite, and lose their site, and my wife will lose the kids.. ect ect ect.
HELP!

I was out walking my dog and an sheriff officer, had just picked up a stray dog stopped me and asked if I knew the stray. I said, I didn't. He asked me if I could help him to find her owner. I said, sure! So, I brought her home with me, put up flyers and ran an ad in the paper. No, one has claimed her. Question is? How long do I have to wait to say she's Mine! She's a wonderful Dog!!

I have a 2 year old Shih Tzu and I have been feeding him Eukanuba since I got him, but when I took him the get groomed I was asked what kind of food I was giving him, I mentioned that I was giving him Eukanuba and the groomer said that I should think about changing him to Royal Canin because it was better for his coat. I only feed him high quality food and what I've been told is that basically its between these two brands of food that are at the top by groomers. I've checked both web sites but they don't seem to give me the info that I want, I'de rather get the imput from dog owners.

Check my 360°.

I think she is 5 or 6 months old. (She doesn't have all her premolars, yet.)

It is hot here in central Texas so keep in mind this is her summer coat.

And any tips for raising her (if she is a Belgian Shepherd) would be appreciated.

We have bonded strongly. She's now my baby & I am gah gah over her!

I have a new Westie-Poo, her name is Ellie and she is absolutely darling. Are there any current owners of Westies, Westie-Poo's, or Poodles that can tell me anything about how big she will get or any other specific info I might want? If it helps, you can see a lot more Westie in her than Poodle, I bet I could probably convince anyone not extremely familiar with Westies that she's purebred since she has the straight hair and Westie face. Anyway, no ignorant or derogatory comments please.

what do you think about people who give their pets up for adoptions for reasons such as their new apartment won't allow pets, or their dogs are misbehaving sometimes or because they will got a new job that requirees travelling? I feel angered at times coz a pet is not just something you get and then give away nor return when circumstances change.. I feel that when you adopt, you commit to give it a home forever, unless something drastically changes your circumstance and you have absolutely no choice but to give them up for their own good.. what about you? do you think it is justified or are most just looking for an easy escape from responsibility? Pet overpopulation rate and homelessness is just so high now that we cannot keep contributing to the problem..

He's 15 months old and does pretty good, he has plenty of toys around the house so he knows what to chew but once in a GREAT while he'll find something hes not supposed to chew. I really want to let him have a little more freedom, but i'm afraid he'll chew something up or go to the bathroom in the house and im not going to be up to correct him. What do i do?

We're currently planning our first annual we'll call it cutest puppy contest, needs a better name.

I need contest category idea, so far I've got Cutest Puppy of course and Best Trick. I need some more.

Next we need some game ideas. One that comes to mind is obedience stations, for example at one station get your dog to sit, the next lay down, maybe throw a trick in there somewhere.

Any other ideas for this would great.

Thanks in advance.
