When you take your dog to get groomed,
do you tip the groomer "and" the bather?
I did, but I wasn't sure if we're supposed to or not.

These are the definition in the dictionary so why do people get angry over the use of these words and why do the BYB that breed mutts get angry when you point it out? Even if they are using two pure bred dogs to create the mutts, the pups they produce are in fact MUTTS. So with all the mutts dying in shelters why deliberately create more?

She looks like a dalmatian puppy. But I am sure she is a full grown dog. I took her the the humane society to get scanned for a micro chip. She had none. So I took her back home and now im making a found poster. The problem is I have no ideal what kind of dog she is. What should I put on the poster? She is in good health. I don't even think she has fleas. None that I could see anyway. She has a collar but no tags. I know she has to have a loving home somewhere, very sweet dog.

I have five outdoor dogs. Jimmy & Timmy, two German Sheps., and DJ my Choco Lab.. And then Scout, my Dal. Plus Molly, my Golden Retreiver. Now, Usually Jimmy & Timmy hang out by themselves.. And DJ and Scout n their own. And Molly, usually hangs with the kitties.. So usually no one gets in no ones way! So, y is DJ bugging Molly now? DJ is pushing her, and barking at her.. And she's growling. And Molly just shrinks away, even tho she's like double her size.. I wish she would realize, she's bigger than her.. BUt she just gets scared 'cuz she's pushy.. So I donno what to do!!
Am I spose'd to discipline Deej? But she'll never listen. She's a li'l rebelious.. and she'll just jump around me, taunting me, barking wildly. The ages are,

Jimmy: 2 yrs
Timmy: 2 yrs
Molly: 7 yrs
DJ: 9 months
Scout: 1 yr tomorrow

My male is clam and submissive with a few barks at strangers and strange sounds, normal to my standards of the breed (maltese). My female is a known biter, garbage dweller, over eater and a down right aggressive girl. Will her pups be that way or could the pups be a mix of both personality.

I have a 4 month old Lab, Mastiff mix and we went to the beach yesterday. Afterwards I sprayed him down with the hose and he still smells like sea water. I want to give him a bath, however I already gave him one only two weeks ago and I dont want to dry out his coat. If I give him a bath right now will it be okay just this once?

Ok a couple months ago my dog died and i am heartbroken. my life revolved around my little girl. Now i'm really considering getting another dog. i work at an animal shelter and one time this gorgeous long haired german shepherd came into the shelter and i just adored him. So that is the kind of dog i'm wanting to get. the thing is i've never seen one come to the shelter again so i was wondering if anyone knows of where i can find one i've looked at the rescues and i haven't seen the "one" yet. the shepherd that that i was talking about earlier was named Schatten (german for Shadow) and he was a gorgeous Rust And black color and had really long hair and beautiful eyes and best of all a wonderful personality. thanks for your help

I go through this every year. Currently the US Open Tennis Tournament is being held in NYC. I live on Long Island. The Goodyear Blimp is currently moored at a small airfield not far from my home. Every day (during the tournament) the blimp flies over my house en route to the tournament (it's actually kinda cool).
When my dogs see the blimp, they stop what they're doing and they bark at it until it completely passes over my house. My dogs are bird dogs, so it's not unusual for them to look up and observe movement above, but they don't bark at any other flying objects. Surely other people here must have dogs that bark at unusual objects ...

On tuesday my puppy vomited twice and had some runny diarreahea (sp?). We thought he might have gotten into something that upset his stomach b/c on wed. he was chasing the cats and eating again. On thurs. he had massisive vomiting and bloody diarreahea and we took him to the vet immediately. He tested positive for parvo and they started him on iv fluids. The vet said she felt comfortable enough to let me take him home for the evening b/c he hadn't puked or had diarreahea all day, but if he puked 3 times to get him to the ER. So I took him home and 5 min. in the door he puked three little drops of white mucusy discharge, so we went to the ER. He has been at the ER/Vet office for 3 days now. He is not having any diarreahea but he still pukes the white mucussy discharge about once every 6 hours. I called the vet just now and they said he is showing signs of depression. What can I do? What are the signs of parvo recovery? I want to see him but I can't b/c he is in isolation

she is 6 yrs old and she sneaks into my sons' room and urinates on his clothes. i know the obvious answer to stop her is to keep her outside (and I do that but others in the family let her in ) i was wondering if anyone knows if it is a psychological problem and what I could do to stop her as my son is insisting I get her put down.

Okay guys, I have already asked about the kennel cough. Now a new question. My baby is coughing sooo hard now, and there is not a local vet emergence room in my area. I had a friend that works with dogs tell me that I could give him children's cough syrup to help supress the cough until the vet opens on Tuesday. The only problem is that I can't get him to take the meds. I have to force it down him and he is too big of a dog for me to hold down and force the meds all at the same time. Anyone know of an easier way?

So I currently own a 5 month old bichon shih tzu. heres a pic:

and for halloween I was planning on her being a bumble bee. So i would make a black cone to go around her tail as the stinger and then I would buy a yellow baby shirt and paint stripes on it with blue wings. Do you think that sounds cute? If not do you have any suggestions instead?
