thanks for some of the answers...forgot to mention, this dog is already 5kg at 10 weeks and too big for jack russell (although colours consistent with that breed). see more pics, any further help, comments appreciated

What an adorable puppy! His markings are most consistent with a fox terrier but his face is way too boxy for that. Next up is a foxhound but it is so hard to tell his size by the pillows, whether they are standard throw pillows or big huge pillows. Foxhounds grow to be about 70 pounds, Fox terriers about 17! If you could get a picture of him from the side and standing up by a can of Pepsi so you could see his real size and how his ears hang it would be easier. Pits, Staffys and American Bulldogs can also be marked this way but they have smaller ears, except the American bull. The ears flying back has me stumped, it may be easier from the standing position to see how the ears hang naturally. (or stand up if they stand) I don't see any shar pei from this picture at all but that is not surprising since I have never agreed with any shelters guess on dog breeds, it makes me wonder how they got their jobs when I hear some of the things they say they think some dogs are.

Look at this and see if they look familiar

isn't a pit bull same as stafforshire terrier... ASPCA usually has absolutely NO CLUE when it comes to breeds,,, there is no SHARPEI in that look.... 99% of the time the dogs are mixed breeds with mixed breed parents,,, shelters almost always willnot label the dogs a pits....

No clue, but he is cute!!!
I don't see the shar pei, but even if he doesn't look like one, a good clue that he is either part shar pei or part chow is if the tongue has any black/purple spots on it.
