I love APBT the have become my chosin breed ,becuase of there love toward the owners and loyalty, all they want is to be treated as the other dogs do and want to be left alone with the abuse and neglect, they remember, they love you more than you think,
oh and hala l, your dumb, 90% of the dogs that attack people that are recognized are not your so called pitbull ,read the facts view the actually breeds then compare the pics, i personally made the media revise there story when proving that there socalled bully pitbull was in fact the dogo argentino, so becareful, about thinking you know something that you know not, i have raise purebred since i was eight, and all these socalled monter pits bully pits cowhead pits ,they are fake, and not your socalled pitbull, so if you dont know then dont hate, people like you are the ones who think they know it all cuase problems,
not only the socalled pit you had more than likely was a mix breed, thats where you get the temperamnet, and this doing all this traininh, being at the trainers all the time is where you made your mistake, becuase it took to the trainers and other classes you sent it to, you became a stranger to him, this was your mistake,

I think pitbulls have been portrayed in the wrong light for a long time. There is nothing wrong with the breed. What is wrong is people are breeding them too closely and are training them the wrong way. If you read up on what a pit bull -staffordshire terrier- was bred for, you will understand the dog more. German Shepherds, Dobermans, Rottweiler's also have the same bad reputation. I personally think the Akita is the most tempermental of dog breeds.
If you are looking for a guard dog the above breeds are perfect, that is what they are bred for and have the instinct for. Those dogs are cattle dogs, herding and protecting. The females have more of that tendency than males.
I think most breeds are getting bred too closely resulting in dogs that are a little screwed up inside. Kind of like inbreeding. But that is a whole different subject.

I really dont know why people hate a breed. I think most of the time it is FEAR. A pitbull is a legendary fighter... i mean for god sakes... they were made in the first place to being down bears and cougars and things... so why not make them kill each other? If you look up dog bite stats... its the cute cuddley LAB or the GERMAN SHEPHERD... or the POMERANIAN. The reason that pitbulls hit the news is because they are physically not able to let go till the animal or person they are biting into is dead. (another down slide) I would love to own one and show the world... it is not the breed... its the owner. I have met many a pitbull that are wonderful pets. Socialization and handeling... proper training and you will be fine owning one. Pitbulls know what they are shown. like any other breed.

I DON'T HATE THEM...i've had 2...great dogs...although i am not a fan of dog fighting, i realize that this is what they were bred to do. it's like trying to stop a retreiver from retreiving...it doesn't happen. some dogs develop the urge to fight even without them having been fought!
I was new to pitbulls when i got my 1st 1...and i was a teenager...i didn't realize what i was dealing with so i didn't take the necessary steps to ensure that that dog stayed on my property...he was an outside dog and was chained in the back yard...he snapped the chain and was running around the neighborhood...and this was in the 80's so the dog catcher took no chances with Blackie...he was captured and put to sleep...IT WAS MY FAULT !!!!
My second dog was a victim of dog fighting...he was stolen...Lobo was chained to a fence by a thick chain...someone took some bolt cutters and cut the chain loose and took him....he was found dead...he had been fought and killed. Lobo was a sweet dog. i used to take him to the park and let him run free. he wouldn't bother any1 or anything. i even used to take hime to the beach and let him play in the lake. the only problem i had was the life guards telling me that dogs weren't allowed on the beach.
So i don't hate pitbulls...as a matter of fact I THINK THEY ARE THE GREATEST DOGS...as an owner of ANY BREED of dog...you have to be responsible. pitbulls are smart, loyal, easy to train, great guard dogs,(whether they are aggressive or not) and fun to own.
So in closing...DON'T HATE THE DOG !!!!...HATE THE OWNER !!!!!....We made pitbulls, they were bred for fighting BY MAN, they didn't just pop up 1 day. Man selectively chose dogs to breed to and over time developed the pitbull.

I'm going to have to go with DP on this one. I love bully breeds but I'm starting to get annoyed by all the questions similar to this one about "why do you hate this breed", "why do you think this breed is misunderstood" and so on.
You can either be part of the solution or part of the problem. My girl is a boxer/staffie mix, and she's going in next week to get her "canine good citizen" certificate. After that she's going in to get registered and certified as a therapy dog. She's becoming part of the solution.
Sadly thoough there will always be those that will never believe that certain breeds can be good dogs. You can throw all the facts in the world at them and because of their own experiances or experiances of those close to them they will never believe it. It's just how it's going to be. I hate tomatos and no matter what you say about them I'll always hate them.
So really, which is your dog? Part of the problem or part of the solution? That is the only question I feel should ever be asked when it comes to breed specific temperment questions.

Honestly, I hate them because they attack and kill innocent children, cats and other dogs. They are a menace to society. I also hate them because I've never seen a respectable person with them. The only people who seem to own them are white trash or thugs. They are not even a nice looking dog. They are actually pretty ugly. I don't care what any "bully breed" owner says, those dogs attack way more than your average beagle or lab. I realize that bully breed owners are going to disagree and tell me to check out the statistics on dog bites from pro pitbull sites, but we all know that is a bunch of crap. Any official government site will prove me right. All pitbulls must be killed!!!! I love how every owner thinks their dog is a sweetheart until it kills. Then they always say "he's never bitten anyone before". Thats because they are crazy and everybody knows its just a matter of time before a pitbull snaps. The problem is nobody knows exactly when.

okay let me make this clear we so called "pit haters" dont hate the dog we hate the way most ppl train them!!! ppl raise pitbulls to be aggressive and thats why alot of ppl hate pitbulls. but if you r a good trainer for the dog and raise the dog with love and no aggresstion then we wont hate the dogs. animals were not meant to be so aggressive or meant to kill ppl. they r however great gaurd dogs for burglers n such.

No, I don't hate them! I know their behaviour is the direct result of the treatment they've received from their owners. But, couldn't some kind a permit be issued to a Pit-bull owner, that would certify them as capable and dedicated handlers of this breed?

i hit upon it exciting that if hyperlinks to the hundreds of thousands of video clips or media hype exhibiting aggressive APBTs grew to become into shown - anyone would say "they may well be crosses and so on'. yet for sure lots of those canines shown on your video weren't even APBTs. there have been Rotties and additionally one with fluffy ears?!?! it style of feels issues are grew to become in spite of the undeniable fact that folk wish. The APBT is an superb dogs. they are captivating looking too, and that i do relish them. yet please do not forget approximately right here info: they have been bred to be exceedingly dogs aggressive. they have been bred to combat in any different case to different breeds. they have been bred to be "interest", and hence not provide up or permit circulate in regularly occurring circumstances. Their prey force does not in many situations kick in till after 2yo. they are immensely effective. they can't hence be while in comparison with little aggressive canines. finally - interior the incorrect palms AN APBT would be VERY risky. i'm so unwell of this debate. anybody who somewhat is familiar with and loves this breed - additionally understand... maximum folk shouldn't in any respect very own ONE.
