We're currently planning our first annual we'll call it cutest puppy contest, needs a better name.

I need contest category idea, so far I've got Cutest Puppy of course and Best Trick. I need some more.

Next we need some game ideas. One that comes to mind is obedience stations, for example at one station get your dog to sit, the next lay down, maybe throw a trick in there somewhere.

Any other ideas for this would great.

Thanks in advance.

How about Best Dressed Dog, Oldest Dog, Shortest or Longest Tail, Best Smile, Happiest Dog.

For game ideas, what kind of games are you looking for? One fun game to play with teams is called "C-A-T." It's similar to the basketball game HORSE. Each team has the same number of dogs and one team goes first. The person from the first team asks their dog to do something (could be a sit, crawl, any trick or command the dog knows) and someone from the second team must then get their dog to do the same thing. When one team can't do the same thing that the other team did, they get a letter and the game continues until one of the teams has spelled out CAT.
This website also has some other fun games to play with groups of dogs and people: http://dogscouts.org/funandgames.shtml#Copy

Games of fetch and retreival are fun...

have a feild full of toys.. you need to have several toys of the same type... balls.. stuffies etc.. then have owners (one at a time) get their dogs to retreive as many toys as they can in a 2 minute time limit.. each toy is worth points - you can even have it so each type of toy is worth so many points.. this is a good game if you have alot of well trained - obedient dogs.

MUSICAL CHAIRS....owner can only sit on a chair if the dog is SITTING on the floor first.. and dog must remain sittiing...

there are lots of variations of musical chairs with dogs...
