Beagles are usually barkers. A yorkie doesn't shed because they have actual hair rather than fur, and it grows a little slower than human hair, so minimal amount of grooming. You can google Yorkie and get lots of pics, BUT you don't have to keep their hair long like you will see in a lot of the pictures.

Hope this helps.

Beagles don't shed very much unless they are in hot weather. They don't shed when they walk around the house and things, but I just give mine a brush down once a week to get rid of all the loose hair. It doesn't take more than three minutes, and it's really very manageable.

As for barking, it's really up to the owner to train your dog, regardless of breed, not to bark too excessively. Beagles are hounds, and do bark when they see cats on the other side of the gate, or when they see strangers coming in, but this is very bearable.

As for grooming, hardly any is required at all...like I said, a brush and bath once a week and they are fine.

Other than that, beagles are really one of the most loyal and affectionate companions you will ever find.

Beagles are cool little dogs. They are friendly, easy to get along with and cute as a button. A couple of the negatives are ... 1) They do shed, 2) A friend of mine has 3 and she says they stink more than most dogs when they get wet (I cannot verify that though), 3) They don't bark - they sort of let out a long blood curdling howl. Obviously you've never heard it - once you hear it you will never forget it!

Oh yeah, one other negative trait is they are tracking dogs. Which means, they will pick-up a scent and just start following it. I live in the country and remember one day years ago when a beagle ran thru my farm. He was obviously tracking something. I tried to catch him but he was running too fast for me. (I know - his legs were 6 inches long and I couldn't catch him?!)

Good luck.

Beagles are great dogs with minimal grooming and shedding. However they do bark and bray a lot! They also love to dig. They are very sweet dogs though.

Boxers are known for not being 'barkers'. I have one and he only barks if a stranger comes to the door. He doesn't even bark at other dogs when we go out.
They have very short hair and don't shed much at all. There's not even much hair in the water after his bath.

Aside from that, they have great personalities. They are loving but they're not all over you or licking people all the time. They just like companionship.

Some of the mini beagles bark less and the lemon or other rare colored beagles do shed less. But all in all, yes they are barkers.

I have a beagle who is a year old in about two weeks. She sheds all over the place, brays when she hears the doorbell, and sits and whimpers when she isnt getting enough attention. BUT! She is the most loving, loyal, and playful dog I have ever been around.

Beagles do shed, but not profusely. They bray or do the typical hound bark. You know how that sounds? They are nice little dogs though. Easy to get along with, but they follow their nose.

I love Beagles. They're one of my favorite breeds and I've had two, both males, and a Beagle mix, also a male. They do shed a little, but not so you notice ,like you do with a shepherd or retriever. They're very easy to groom, though.A quick bath and brush every few weeks and they're good to go.They do like to bay and howl, though, mostly when they're excited or playing. And,they are little pigs! You have to keep food and garbage where they can't get to it,or they will literally eat themselves to death.Otherwise,I don't have anything bad to say about them, they are wonderful little dogs! I miss mine so!

you are asking alot...
a Beagle is not your answer thats for sure.. they shed alot and do bark.. and dig.. etc...

the non-shedding breeds all require daily brushing and regular trips to the groomer for hair cuts..
how often do you brush your own hair?? and yet you ask for a dog who doesnt require much grooming...

barking - much barking is owner error in training.. and can be avoided by more mental stimulation for the dog and disapline correctly...(yelling "NO" to a barking dog is NOT going to stop it from barking)

in the shedding dogs - somewhat its food related - bad food = more shedding.. also stress = more shedding.. all foods from grocery store/Wal Mart are bad food.. too much filler not enough nutrition - dogs will poop more too...
