Was wondering when you see two dogs walking through the neighborhood sniffing aorund and searching together if they have formed some type of friendship bond with each other. Is one gonna jump in to help the other in a time of need?

my puppy's first birthday is coming and i had an idea that we could invite all of her siblings, who coincidentally live in the same area. i was thinking maybe we could go to a small dog park near where i live.

i wanted some ideas about what we could do, maybe some activities. i also wanted to make all of the puppies little personal birthday cakes/treats. i need a site where i could get cake/treat recipes for dogs.

thx a lot!!

I have a 3 1/2 month old yorkie who has been acting strange lately. She currently is getting over kennel cough...on clavamox for another few days. She sits up on her butt with paws in the air and sways side to side crying and kind of growls, and tries to bite her butt. She will roll on her back and curl up and lick at her butt. Then she runs around and does it all over again. This may go on for 30 minutes or so. It may happen once or even twice a day, sometimes not as severe as others. She has been dewormed, and her feces has been tested twice. She does not have lice. I told her vet about this when I first noticed her doing some of the stuff and at this time it wasn't as severe...and she said that 'it just might be something she does.' If you could see her doing this you would know that something is wrong. Other than that weird series of events she eats normally (more like hogs it down), drinks water, and plays like a normal puppy. Please help, we have been up all night!

I have a 4yr old Chihuahua/Pom Mix. She has come into heat (was told she was spayed, apparently not). I've been trying very hard to keep my 2yr old Welsh Corgi away from her. I'm trying the diaper thing.(UGH!) Their both use to using a doggy door. Weather is not permitting to keep one outside right now. What else could I possibly do? Will it harm my ChiPom if she did get pregnant?

We recently got a puppy and she digs on our bedsheet (scratches and scratches) and then doesnt even lay there! She gets pleanty of excersize, and will stop if we tell her to, she has pleanty of toys, but she keeps doing that digging/scratching when she gets a chance. She scratches on our pillow too but she lays on that afterwards so I'm assuming shes making a nest out of it, but why is she doing it where she doesnt lay?

a dog should have a chance to been giving a chance to live. dogs are not vicious animals their behavoir is the result of mankind. i do feel sorry for the victim. I would love to see the person go to jail for little time for being abusive and training a dog to be mean.

My elderly border collie insists on doing more than her body can do. She has severe arthritis, and is on medication for it, but it's difficult to restrict her movements when there are younger dogs bounding around. She pulls up lame and cries. How can I get enough exercise for the younger dogs while making sure she doesn't overexert herself?

It is about a pet thar dies and waits for you. They are in heaven and playing with other dogs and cats. I lost my sweet little poodle Vicky Lou after 13 years. I miss her so much. I heard about this poem but I don't know the words. Would you know the words?

If I like my pet dogs to eat noncommercial dog food (dry, canned, etc...) only, then answer the following question:
1. What's the pros and cons between cooked and raw meals.

If I decide to let them eat commercial dog food, then answer these questions:
2. What's the best brand(s)?
3. What is human grade ingredients? Why is better than others?
4. Where can I find the list of commercial dog food brands that were NOT affected by the recall of tainted brands?.
5. How were the affected brands tainted? Is it because they were made outside of the country?
6. What are the best human graded brands?

"Best Answer" is awarded to the person who answers most, if not all, of the questions listed above. Thank you.
If there is anything else you can enlighten me about dog foods, please... SHARE!

I already have 2 dogs, but my friend is thinking about getting one for the first time. Problem is, she lives in an apartment, so the dog would have to be small-ish. Shes hoping it will be easy to train as well.
Any suggestions?

He is eating, drinking and playing normally. He is going to the vet on Monday morning, but I just wondered if your dog has ever had this symptom and what it turned out to be. In case you wonder, he is three years old and has always had regular shots and checkups and has always been in good health. Thank you.
