Has anyone heard of this? How much does it cost? Do you think Veterinarian's have the DNA test kit yet? I just recently heard of this test and was wondering if anyone has had the DNA test done on their dog yet?

Thanks. :)

I have a fast question.... Alot of people told me to let my 2 year old dog *doberman* have a litter of pup's before we fix her it, so this is what we did.. I let her have a "boyfriend" another dob, for a few nights like 3 times?? or something... and she is bleeding from her vagina... is that normal after she stoped bleeding after the first week... i just want to make sure everything is ok... because after this litter she is getting fixed. If you don't have anything nice to say DON"T REPLY.... Thank You

all her muscles are twitching randomly. she's walking with her paws up. she's limping. no blinking. heavy breathing. it looks like she getting paralyzed slowly. we think she got bit very stiff body. by some type of spider or snake but see no swelling or bites. we are worried because she has babies 3 weeks old. we dont want to feed the babies because were worried it may transmit whatever she has. whether it is a disease, or a bite we are NOT going to feed the young.

Spayed, shots up to date, no known parasites. I feed her IAMS lamb and rice formula. Great dog, but she sheds constantly all year long. No amount of brushing gets it all. Vet checked and sees no apparent reason. He offfered a drug to reduce the shedding, but I don't want to give her drugs for my own comfort. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this or how to correct?

I've wanted an irish wolfhound for years, but have always assumed I'd need to wait awhile before I could adopt one because I currently have 3 small dogs. One is 10 pounds, one is 11 pounds, and one is 22 pounds. I just thought that it would be very unsafe to have such a large dog with small dogs. But, I keep hearing that IWs are great with dogs, including tiny ones, and are very gentle. I've seen pictures of them with chihuahuas and tiny yorkies, like 3-4 pounds, and supposedly without problems. I assumed reputable breeders wouldn't let IWs go to homes that have small dogs, but is this not necessarily the case? I just pictured even if the IW is not aggressive, they could inadvertently hurt a small dog in play, or by stepping on them or something! I still think I'm going to wait awhile to get one, but was just curious. Are IWs usually good with small dogs? What do you think?

I work at a vet clinic, and the veterinarian I work for charges $19.00 for a nail trim, PLUS $26.00 for a technician consultation. That means someone has to pay $45.00 to walk in and get their dog's nails trimmed. I think this is absolutely insane, and outrageous. I have talked to my boss about this before, but she refuses to change the price. Now, when people ask me to trim their dog's toe nails, I warn them of the price, and show them how to do it themselves instead. If they can't do it themselves, I tell them to go to the groomer next door where it is only $6.00.

Do you know how much your vet charges for a toe nail trim? And do you think my vet is charging way too much?

We are considering the idea of adding a dog to our family. We currently have an 18 month old son and are expecting again in the end of September (another boy!) We would most likely adopt a puppy (as opposed to an adult dog) so they would grow up accustomed to our children's presence/behavoirs.

We are living in a 900 square foot apartment. I don't work and my son and I spend our afternoons at the park so excercising the dog on a daily basis wouldn't be a problem.

The only hesitation is my husband is concerned that I will end up with "too much on my plate." Has anyone been in a similar situation to ours? Would you recommend following through with a puppy adoption or waiting?

My husband and I have a Beagle that spends a great deal of time outdoors because she isn't house trained. Whenever a person walks by with a dog, our dog jumps up and down, scratches the fence and barks/howls at them. What can we do to stop this behavior?

Dear Husky who came from the shelter.
What goes on in your head? I've always considered myself a dog person, but you manage to be a complete mystery to me. I alternate between thinking you're completely neurotic, or possibly raised by cats, since nothing you do makes sense.

Why must you get up on the dining room table and walk in circles? You do this in the bath tub too. If I ate in either place, it might make sense, but as it is all you do is mess up the piles of unpaid vet bills from when you:
1- came home from the shelter crawling with worms
2- came home from the shelter with kennel cough
3- crawled out of a second story window and walked right off the roof
4- broke your leash, took off running and somehow managed to come back covered in ticks. I didn't even know there were ticks in Vegas, but you found a whole nest of them, I guess.

Do you need dog therapy? I've already invested in said unpaid pile of vet bills, dog kennel (the one place in the house you don't pee, thanks) one of those things to brush out your undercoat so I can wake up in the morning without a mouth full of husky fur, three collars (why do you take them off anyway, and where do you hide them?) and the bi-weekly 20 dollar food that is the only thing you can eat without vomiting an undigested rainbow across my bed. Speaking of which, why are you unable to swallow water without making that horrible gagging noise that sounds like a strangling moose? Even the vets aren't sure why, but I can tell you this. Whatever the reason, it's disgusting.

In fact, a lot of things you do are disgusting. You are the biggest pain in my *** that I could ever possibly imagine. So why haven't I found you a new home? Or taken you back to the shelter?

Because you lick my feet to wake me up in the mornings, and because I've lost ten pounds running with you every day. Because when you run into the sliding glass door, I laugh. Because simple things like peanut butter make you happy. Because when I first took you out of that cage with the seven other dogs in it, you looked at me like I was God.
Because I promised I would take care of you. And I will. Until one of us croaks, we're stuck together. So stop whining like I'm never coming back whenever I leave the room. I'm not going anywhere.

We have a debate on whether wolves drink water like dogs or whether they are able to suck up the water by curling their tongue. I know this sounds like a dumb question, but it wll help quiet down a dumb person (potentially). Thanks in advance.

I've been told that dogs eat grass when they're stressed or when they have an upset stomach while others have said that they shouldn't eat grass because it's just not good for them since they can't digest it. My dog when he does eat grass, just poops it out the next day with no harmful side effects....so it seems.
