I'm not infested but I'm trying to prevent flea and ticks from indoor, outdoor and on my pet. Which is the best brand?

Advantage and Frontline are both good.
I use Bio Spot. It is otc and not expensive. I've used it for over 12 years now. I never see fleas or ticks on my 3. I also used it on all the rescues that I've had. Never a problem!

Get Iver-On!
Many no-kill shelters use it.
It's Ivermectin liquid wormer for cattle.

Use 1 1/2 cc per 14 pounds of dog.

It is the same thing as Reolution (Rev is very expensive, this is cheap) that is used like Frontline and Advantage (put on between the shoulder blades and in a straight line down the back to the tail). I learned this from the owner of a no-kill shelter.
It gets rid of fleas and ticks keeps mesquitos away, therefore used as a heartworm prevention. Use once every 2 weeks.

It dries in minutes, so there is no oily substance or anything to get on you.

Did I mention CHEAP? $20 a bottle at Tractor Supply and farm stores. A bottle last forever!!!! Close to a year on a small dog.
.
It also helps with allergies and Sarcoptic Mange (something that is hard to detect and often mistaken for allergies)

I use it on 3 med size dogs and my bottle has lasted 6 months (NO FLEAS on mine ...ever!)
Good luck.

The best is advantage i use it and i think it is great, But i dont recomend any spray or collars they simply do not work and dont kill the eggs or prevent them from hatching, so i really suggest advantage becasue it might be a litle more expensive but if you buy anything else you are wasting your money.

i use advantage and have no problem. you apply it to the dog once a month, between the shoulder blades -- pull back their hair and get as much directly onto their skin as possible.

there are many products with which you can spray your yard, if you thnk it's necessary.

if all else fails, call the vet.

i'm tired! goodnight.
