take a min. toread this On July 12, 2007 a pitbull names maximus was found. He was tied to a tree and badly burnt over 60 percent of his body.

Someone had poured gasoline all over him, set him on fire and then walked away while he was still burning

Shortly after being found, undergoing multiple surgerys and recieving veterinary care

Maximus' short life (he was only 2 years old) ended. One of the vetrinarians who tried to save Maximus described him as " a good dog up until the very end ... giving licks and kisses

almost as sad as my great grandmother getting viciously mauled and killed in her own yard by her neighbors pitbull. they are a vicious breed that should be extinct!

Don't listen to Dioxippus. He's an asshole who's brain was completely screwed up by the media.
I've been close to a lot of pitbulls. You can look at me and you won't find one single scar on me. Pitbulls are friendly creatures. It's the stupid owners. They're the goddamn problem! They make the dogs bad. People wanna blame someone for the dog attacks, BLAME THE OWNERS, NOT THE DOGS!! It's like blaming Frankenstein just because he was created, when the one to blame should actually be his creator.
Maximus' story is indeed a tragic one. I cry because no one seems to give a damn for this breed. But Maximus was proof that pitbulls CAN be lovely animals.
Don't listen to ignorants like Dioxippus. Don't bother with them. It's like me hating the human race because ONE of them killed a loved one.
I'll light a candle for dear Maximus and pray that he gets to the Rainbow Bridge quickly.

This is disgusting! The people that do these thing can't possibly be human. It reminds me of NFL star quarterback Michael Vick fighting dogs and if the dog didn't perform well he tortured these poor dogs by getting them wet and electrocuting them and worse. Oh my gosh!!! That is so sad!! I love dogs to death!! I cannot believe anyone would do this to an animal,no matter what they still have their little feeling and they are part of God creation. God will punish the person that did this to that poor Maximus. How sad :(

Yes this is a very sad story, I am at least glad someone found him and he was shown love at the end!
I am also sad that their are so many dog (Pit Bull) haters in this world (and on the question).

These type of things happen in real life.
And you know what? It makes me cry.
Pitt bulls are just dogs. The people that treat them cruel and not train them are not good owners. The people that treat pit bulls mean and turn them vicious for sport and game is an abomination.
Ignorance makes beautiful animals extinct.

I think it is sad that someone thought it necessary to do that to that poor dog. The person who did that should suffer. That dog didn't deserve that. Any one who would do that to a dog will do it to a person and they are sick!! I agree with you it is a really sad story.
