So sorry for your loss. Here are 2 wonderful poems...
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Here is another great poem...
Heaven's Doggy-Door
My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
and it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And Oh...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart that's filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends, He's installed a 'doggy-door'!!!

The Rainbow Bridge inspired via a Norse legend via the fringe of a woods, on the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow the place time stands nonetheless. the place the acquaintances of guy and woman do run, whilst their time on earth is over and achieved. For here, between this worldwide and the subsequent, Is a place the place each and each cherished creature shows relax. in this golden land, they wait and that they play, till at last the Rainbow Bridge they pass over at some point. not extra do they go through, in soreness or in unhappiness, For here they're total, their lives crammed with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their well being renewed, Their bodies have healed, with power imbued. They romp for the period of the grass, without even a care, till at some point they start, and sniff on the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then unexpectedly, one breaks from the %.. For only at that on the spot, their eyes have met; together back, the two individual and puppy. so as that they run to a minimum of one yet another, those acquaintances from long previous, The time of their parting is over ultimately. The unhappiness they felt together as they have been aside, Has grew to become into exhilaration as quickly as extra in each and each heart. They include with a love which will final perpetually, and then, area-via-area, they pass over… together.
