Was wondering when you see two dogs walking through the neighborhood sniffing aorund and searching together if they have formed some type of friendship bond with each other. Is one gonna jump in to help the other in a time of need?

Dogs being pack animals they do like to be with other dogs or people. That is why it is cruel when people leave their dog tied outside alone. If they see something to chase or hunt they will do it as a team, and yes they do some times form strong bonds. But if they are just wandering around together it is more like if you just met a nice person to talk to, but you probably wouldn't invite them home for supper. In these circumstances its doubtful that one would really protect the other in time of need. The one would just run away then return to see what happened to his friend.

I believe that they are friends and would help out in a time of need. We once had a male dog who befriended a female dog. They took off together for three days, were found 25 miles away, still together! Tell me that isn't friendship!

They are just hanging out.. It's not a guarantee that one dog would stick up for or help the other.. Just someone to hang with.
