Yes it would be dangerous if you Corgi was to breed with a Pom/Chi mix. If she gets pregnat the puppies will be to big for her to deliver and it could kill her. I would suggest keeping one dog in a crate or X-pen and trade off throughout the day so they never have contact with each other. Or you could take one of your dog to a boarding facility or ask a friend if they could take care of one of your dogs until the Heat cycle is over.

Pomeranians have notoriously bad pregnancies. With a dog as large as a Corgi, you are heading for disaster. If you can not be 100% sure that the two have not mated, you should take your Pom right away to be spayed. She could not possibly, without injury, deliver Corgi mix puppies. She will have to be spayed, anyway to stop the cycle of coming into heat.

The safest and best thing to do is get him neutered right away. You can have her spayed now, but there's a slight risk while she's actually in heat. You can't let them outside together...so, temporarily prevent use of the 'doggy door'. In fact, don't even risk them being in the same room while inside. Don't rely on 'doggy diapers', because they're made to prevent mess and can't be trusted to prevent breeding. Do you have a crate or kennel? If not, you'll have to keep one in another room w/the door firmly closed...you can rotate so neither feel left out. Do you have a friend or boarding kennel that can watch the male (don't chance the female), worst case? This is not a breeding I recommend for many reasons, but especially her safety. Honestly, if you're determined for it not to happen, it won't. I've had intact dogs most of my life and never had a litter...planned or unplanned.

It might if she's small. Do whatever you can to keep the separate. And spay her and neuter the corgi ASAP. If you can, you may want to take the corgi to a kennel or friend or family members house until the pom/chi comes out of heat.

It can cause a lot of harm for her to get pregnant. The female should always be larger than the male. She could have trouble giving birth and possibly die with out a c-section. Also, since both of your dogs are mutts, you have no idea what their parents medical history is. It is very likely that one or both of your dog is a carrier for one of many genetic diseases common in dogs that will be passed down to the puppies. This will result in very sick and expensive to care for puppies. Not to mention that you would be adding to the pet over population problem and that the puppies, unless you kept them, would have a 9 in 10 chance of being put down in a shelter.
You can get one, but preferably both, of your animals fixed. Most states have free or no cost spay and neuter programs if you cannot afford it. There are also some vets out there that will let you make payments. Please, please, for the safety of your dogs, get them spayed and neutered!!

It may not be a good idea to spay the chihuahua while she is in heat, but nothing is stopping you from getting the corgi neutered ASAP.

Both your pets need to be altered! Even if she is pregnant I would still get her in and get her spayed because more than likely she will have complications if she is pregnant just because the male is bigger. Not only that but there is a huge pet over population problem going on. And the risks of not having you pets altered are not fun. So many cancers they can get along with urinary problems, not to mention an infected uterus in your female. It would save you alot of $$$ and your pets will be happier and healthier if you spay and neuter them now rather than waiting until there is a problem.

Yes, it would harm her...I'm sure she is not as big as the Corgi. She would probably have delivery problems, not to mention the world does not need more mutts. Just keep them separated(different rooms will work) and get BOTH of them altered ASAP...especially the female.

A Corgi's size would cause your dog to have puppies that may be too big for her to birth safely. I would protect her against getting pregnant. I would do as the others suggested and get them both fixed.

Talk to your veterinarian about getting her spayed as soon as possible. She can get spayed while she is in heat. Or you can get your corgi neutered as soon as possible. It would be best if they could both get fixed. Good Luck with your dogs.
