I have 2 dauschund's. This morning they tied together while breeding. Does that tie guarantee puppies? I have been told previously that if the dogs tie then you will have puppies. I just want to know if others know if this true. Please do not tell me to have my dogs spayed and neutered. I have planned to breed my dogs. I am going to do everything right. My female will go to the vet very soon to be checked out. My puppies will all be taken to the vet to have their shots and worming. My dogs are registered and pedigreed. So save your "Get your dog spayed and neutered". I will not listen. I thank everyone who can give me the answer to my question without criticism about spaying and neutering.

I just bought this puppy about 2 weeks ago. Hes cute, adoring, and all but my husband and I are buying a new house and kinda want to keep it really clean and of course with the dog we wont be able to. We hardly even have time to spend with the dog and dont have time to train it. Every time I take him out for a walk, he wont go poop or pee. He only does that on his puppy pad and I just think he needs someone that will give him more time. I am going to begin working full-time next month and dont have the kind of money to take him to a daycare. What do you guys think I should do?

I am married with 2 kids and one on the way. Here in the next few months we are looking into getting a family dog. I have a few breeds in mind as I am a animal lover, but would like to get others thoughts. My husband and I have a 3 year old heeler who is a wonderful dog, but she treats us like her heard(that is what she is to do, they are working dogs) because of this she protects us with her life. I love the fact she would die trying to help my girls. This leads to problems as well. We would like to take her out to a park or just to pets mart and can not. So we would liek to find a dog that we can take running with us or nice wallks on days in the park. A dog that loves people and a good playmate for my girls. Plus a friend for a the dog we have and love now. Please help.

Summer is almost here and temperatures are very high outside. I have a dog, croatian sheepdog (the pic: http://www.dogdomain.com/images/277_croatiansheepdog1.jpg)
and I keep him in the garden. He always lays in shadow but now the temperatures are 34°C even in the shadow so it is very very hot.
I give him a lot of cold water but i don't know is this enough to keep him refreshed. I tried to bathe him, but he doesen't like it.
What is the best way to refresh him and make him stand the heat?

We have tried taking away his water 2 hours before bedtime and making his crate smaller. We've tried taking him out right before we go to bed ( midnight or later) and he still pees by the time we get up (8:15am) What can we do? Is this normal? He is house trained but for some reason loves to pee in his crate. He was good for about a month or so but now it's every night.

When she goes outside to do her business she turns right around and starts eating it! Or she runs back to the door to be let in, and brings it back in the house. Not only is the act making ME sick, I'm more afraid it will make HER sick.

My grandfather is 85 years old. I am 22 and I have a full grown German Shepard, that I trained myself. Its very high disipline, and smart.

Well, my grandfather often offers to babysit my dog, when I am away, he loves to do it and I can tell. I am thinking of getting him a German Shepard as well, but I cant decide whether or not to get him a puppy, and train it myself, or get him a good full grown thats roughly 3 - 4 years old.

Keep in mind that my grandfather is old, he's 85 and has had heart surgery. He's not in the best health, but I think that a dog might improve the quality of length of his life.

My puppy will not sleep at night. She sleeps fine during the day when we have her out, but when we put her in the kennel at night she cries. We let her sleep with a blanket, stuffed animal, alarm clock, and radio and yet she still will cry and bark. Any suggestions of what to do?

I've heard from some vets that it is not good for the dogs to go bathing when it's warm cause they can get into some kind of shock? I didn't quite understand it cause I thought that water cools them down and makes it easier for them to manage with heat outside. Is there someone who can tell me if it's ok to take my dog for a swim, or not?
