The only way I can stop it following me by giving it a toy or I try sneaking out of it's sight. It was cute at first but now it's very annoying. Any tips?

Your cocker spaniel is too attached to you.
Let him get attached to other family members friends kids
Maids and servants, things, toys, dog chew and buiscuits Comfortable Mattresses etc.
It is simply cute and you are lucky else i have a American spitz she doesn't come to me at all unless hungry LOL

Most dogs follow their owners around, I have 7 and get escorts to the kitchen and bathroom quite often. Dogs are pack animals and want to be together. Try baby gates across rooms you don't want it in. Make sure you take the pup outside and play with it to tire it out. If you want to get something done w/o a dog put him in his crate with a chewie.

this is quite normal my pit pup does this. Also its not true that you dont play with the puppy too much because you can play walk mine and he still follows me. I dont mind it though. Work with the puppy, teach him the sit and stay comands. It takes time with them to get to learn the stay command but work with it. Mine still follows me around i just go on my bussiness dont pay him a mind if im cleaning or cooking. I also create him if hes under foot in the create with a few toys to play with. he adventually goes and plays with his toys. I think they feel safe around us. hope this helps GOOD LUCK!

You aren't playing with him often enough or giving him enough toys to play with.

If he doesn't have a yard to run in, then you need to take him for nice walks and have some play time with him each day. And get more chew toys and other things for him or else you'll find your favorite hat all chewed up :)

if your puppy is following you around it holds you in great honors. to your puppy you are the stronger in the pack. it shows signs of great loyality to you. this should be built upon. sounds like you have a great pup!

Puppie has just separated from his mom and siblings! Have some patience and make something good out of it.
BTW, even little puppie is either he/ she NOT it.
