I have a Yorkie, and they do not shed as much as some dogs, but Yes, they shed. I will see the black hairs all over my bed. Not nearly as much as my Shepherd sheds, but still some hairs come out. You need to brush them.

Yes they do ssehd but one thing is that they have layered hair and it's the under layer that sheds but most will get caught in the other layers.
A Yorkie need a lot of brushing and needs to be brushed in layers.
Or you could keep shaved in what's called a puppy cut.
