Wow - are you sure she is pregnant?
6 months old is almost too young for the first season...
BUT
if she is pregnant she will not have them until she is 8 months old. Nature has a way of taking care of its own... she can have the litter...
feed her puppy food and give her fat free plain yogurt (fat free has more calcium) daily. Give her a raw egg 1-2 times a week. Plus you can give her 250 mg of Vitamin C as that will help her body hold the calcium.
good luck

6 months is way too young for a dog to get pregnant. No, it probably won't kill her but it will be bad for her health now and in the future. She is still a baby and she is still growing and maturing. It would be like a 8 yr old girl having a baby. Keep feeding her puppy food. It would probably be best to have her spayed now, but you said you do not want to do that and kill the pups. You say you cannot afford a vet, so what happens when it is time for the pups to come and she needs a c-section in the middle of the night at the emergenct vet clinic. That costs over a thousand. I hope you will do what is right for the dog.

So you "don't believe in cat abortions"? So you think YOUR kittens have more a right to live than the shelter cats and kittens that will be PUT TO DEATH at your local shelter since you'll take homes from them? That's pretty selfish - and cruel. And fact is, being only five months old - a freaking KITTEN herself - your kitten may very well DIE while giving birth to these kittens since though she's hormonally ready to be pregnant her body really ISN'T. Why on earth didn't you get her spayed? And let me guess - you allowed her to run around outdoors and that's how she got pregnant? If that's so then she may have contracted Feline Leukemia and both she and all these kittens will die. How very, very sad that people like you exist. Shame on you. edit: Volunteer_Gal - Purrfect Pals is the Northwest's largest no-kill shelter and kittens are spayed and neutered at eight weeks and two pounds. Which shelter are you claiming is the "Northwest's largest"?

If she is not too far along, get her spayed now. If you don't have the resources for a vet, you can't afford to raise puppies properly and they will have a bad start in life. It is also extremely unhealthy for a 6-month old toy dog to be pregnant. If it is too late to spay her, better find a way to pay the vet bills. You'd be better off relinquishing her to a humane society that can provide vet care for her and her puppies than keeping her and providing no care at all.
You had money for vacation but not a vet?

6 months is way too young for her to have puppies. She may reject the pups and you'll end up with more problems. The puppies can die without special care, and it doesn't seem like you're prepared at all for puppies. I don't think it'll kill her, but there can be complications while she's giving birth. I think you should get her to a vet to see what your options are. I know that vet visits are expensive, but those puppies are going to cost more. What'll happen when your dog rejects those puppies and you have to bottle feed the pups? I think your vet will know the best thing to do.

Yes, of course having pups can kill her esp as she is way too young to have pups. If you don't have the money to take proper care of her turn her over to a rescue so she will get a better home who will take care of her. She should have been spayed b4 she was 6 mos old. If she can not whelp a C section will be an emergency and cost over $1,000 and she may not even take care of the pups.

A six month old girl-dog being pregnant is about the same as a 13 year old girl-human girl being pregnant and should be taken that seriously.
She needs to go to the vet - regularly.
Now, this is going to sound harsh and quite mean - but, if you really loved your dog you would have gotten her spayed before she went into heat.

I have to begin by saying if you can't afford vet bills, you shouldn't have a pet.
Now....is the sire bigger than she is? They should always be smaller as they control size of pups. Make sure she has plenty of food and water. Watch her carefully. At the first sign of distress, call your vet. Gestation period is 60-63 days. If you bought her from a breeder, call the breeder for help.
Good luck.

Okay, if you don't have the responsibility to take care of a dog properly, or the ability (not enough money)... Please give this dog to someone who can. Find a Min-Pin rescue in your area. They will take this dog! Or, worst ditch... Find a Humane Society or an SPCA/ASPCA.
You obviously don't have the ability/knowledge to deal with this problem. Get the dog help before you wind up killing her and the puppies.
