Not usually. Mine are in and out all winter. Of course they are UTD on their shots and see the vet regularly.

I don't think so - make a note of what he/she has eaten and had to drink of 24hrs, check your yard for vomit, your dog for temperature.also check the last bowel motion, then ring a vet
A/hrs should cost nothing for a phone call, but they should be asking questions to give you peace of mind as to the seriousness of your dog's sickness and whether or not you need to make a trip

I think you might need to alternate and see which one it likes the best and is comfortable in.
