I have a five month old puppy and I just got a nine week old puppy too so she would have someone to play with during the day while were at work. They are biting at each other and playing very rough at times. I am going to get my five month old spayed this week. I'm hoping that will help with the problem?

I rescued a female pittbull, not knowing she was pregnant. I am now trying to find good homes for them so I posted a notice on a yahoo group site and was contacted by a member who asked me if I was aware that anyone who adopted a puppy would have a higher home owners insurance rate. Has anyone heard of this?

i want to get a dog for my grandma and grandpa who live with each other in a condo. they are pretty active and they are entertained easily. they don't want too playful dogs because they don't have that much energy all the time. sometimes it could be happy and playful, and other times it could be a couch potatoe. which do you recomend?

Hello. My son's friend was over at my house playing. My dog was chained up in my back yard. The friend taunted my dog which led my dog to bite his finger. The friend tip of finger is broken. I told the mom I would take care of all medical bills which she is allowing me to do so. Can she sue me still???

Is there a cheaper way to get a puppy for less from a breeder? I heard that you can buy a dog that isn't perfect for showing, for less money. Is this true, and is it a good idea?
(i'm looking for a bernese mountain dog, and they run for $1000. yikes!)

my ex was stalking me and i went to the police and got a restraining order on him, my mom finally believed me. She has sent me to oklahoma to stay with my gandparents until he can be found by the cops. he dissapearred somewhere.
mom suggested i buy a dog while im here and i want to get a medium to large sized dog that is loyal and easily trained to guard me when i go for walks around town and guard my family and home. but i dont want him or her to attack unless its to defend me or my family if were being hurt. i also want a dog whos good with kids family and friends as i have a 4 year old brother.and a nine year old sister.
is a male or female better? we dont want a dog who has puppys. mom said it has to be de sexed.
and whats the best type of dog to buy? mom gave me $900 to buy one.
i really want a true bred dog not a mixed up breed.
and whats the best age to get a dog if i want to take it to be trained by my uncle who works in security?

Everyone says that yorkies have all these health problems. I am really wanting a Yorkie but I don't have hundreds and hundreds of dollars to spend at a vet. I have a couple of friends who have yorkies and they havn't gotten sick. The one breeder I found has them for $200, AKC, but am I getting ripped off?

I've read so much about crate training but don't have a dog myself. I've read pro's and cons, right ways and wrong ways, so which side, if any, is the 'right' side, if both crating and non-crating get the job done?

My dog has swimmers ear, and I am supposed to put 3 drops into his ears 2 times a day. He immediately starts jumping around, nipping at my hands, pulling away from me.
He weighs 90 lbs and its all I can do to hold him down and at this point, I am not sure how many drops he is getting because it is such a fiasco. I tried to get help from my nephew, but he made it worse. The dog is still in his puppy stage. He acts terrible.
Any suggestions?

I was given a puppy in Feb. and they told me it was full blooded labrador, but had non papers. I could care less about the papers though. She has grown a lot, and now she looks almost like a lab, but she has weird color, and she has a lot of control over her ears. He color is almost white, but she has a light brown (sorta pink) stripe down her back. I believe that she is around 3 or 4 mos old. I have a link to her picture below. The one labeled Daisy sleeping is her youngest. The one labeled Daisy getting older is 2nd, and the one labeled Daisy now is the most recent.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know if this is a problem, but I am concerned. When my labradoodle runs, his back two legs don't follow the front two legs; they go down a separate path. I don't know how to explain this really. It's like seeing a car driving down the street with a crooked frame. It's just not straight. Is there something wrong with my dog? He is a year old.

I have a 4 month old male GSD. At his visit to the vet last week they noticed one of his testicles didn't fall and so he will be getting neutered on Tuesday...(I was planning on getting this done anyway but at 5mon.) I was wondering how this will change his attitude. He has been in obedience school for a 4 weeks now yet still won't walk on a loose leash (he is constantly pulling) Will getting him neutered help with this kind of thing? He isn't sexually mature so I highly doubt he is pulling b/c of the scent of a female. What behaviors will it change other than marking his territory and running off for females once he is sexually mature? Also, what kind of care will be needed after the surgery? Will they give him meds?? I plan on speaking to the vet about all of this but thought I'd see what you all had to say.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

ok so i have a 2 year old miniature pinscher and he is not neutered. in july i will be going to a different state with my friends and i dont know what to do with my dog. the daycare probably wont take him beacause hes not neutered. and my only other possible choice i can think of is to take my dog with me.

so here are my questions-

1. does anyone know of a doggie daycare that will accept unneutered dogs?

2. and does anyone know what else i could do with my dog so i dont have to take him with me?

p.s- there is no one that can watch my dog either so that isnt even a choice.

My 5 month old pekingese was Spayed on Tuesday and they also repaired her Hernia (which was already repaired when she was 2 months old but they said it needed further repair during her spay) She pooped on her puppy pad, but she ate it ,so I couldn't see the stool except for the remnants on her pad which had specks of red blood. She just had a full blood work up and fecal exam including giardia, parasites, etc on Tuesday. She has had all of her shots. Is this something that happens after spay or hernia surgery? She is acting completely normal VERY hyper, clear eyes, normal appetite. ALSO-She also had a blood/fecal work up 2 weeks ago because she was vomiting and had loose stool. Again, everything was normal and she was switched to Hills wet presciption I/D food on Tuesday.
